Playing with Glimmer Hot Foil Machine

Today I decided to play with my Glimmer Hot Foil machine from Spellbinders.  Since I only have the two plates that came with it (waiting for others to arrive)  I decided to try something different.

I started by using green foil  on black cardstock.  This performed pretty well, so I decided to turn in into a Christmas Card.

I trimmed the black cardstock to 5.25 x 4 inches.  I then cut out some of the poinsettias, pine cones and greenery from the Christmas Blooms die set .  This was arranged and glued at the top of the oval.  I wanted an ornament in the center, however I didn't know where I would put a sentiment.  I searched thru my box of Christmas stamps and dies and came across this particular one - Deck the Halls - which had both features I wanted.   This was die cut from gold cardstock and placed just under the floral arrangement so that it appeared to be hanging from that.  Then I added a twine bow and gold drops for the center of the poinsettias.

I like how it turned out, but wish I had done it  on white paper instead.  Oh, well, maybe next time!
