CYCI #143 Challenge

Well it is that time again.  Another CYCI Challenge.  This time it is a sketch challenge.  I think these are my favorite types of challenges.  This card has a cute story.  My husband, who has worn contact lenses since forever, finally got a new pair of glasses today.  So, when I saw this stamp, I just had to make the card.  He got quite a kick out of it to say the least!  And, it worked perfectly for this challenge.

Everything used for this card (except the buttons) are from Fun Stampers Journey.  I hope you like the card and will join in the fun and take the challenge for yourself!  Don't be shy, show us your card!

Have a great Holiday!

CYCI Challenge # 142

This challenge from CYCI was a color challenge.  Well it was challenging for me to find these colors in my stash.  So, I took a little artistic license and used a slightly lighter color than eggplant.  I had this pretty printed paper and sentiment stamp which came as a free gift with a card making magazine.  Since it had the lavender and silver colors in it, I thought it would give me a chance to use it.  I paired it with a slightly darker cardstock and matted both pieces onto a white base.  It is so hard to see in the photo, but the tops of the trees on the print paper is silver.  I then embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder and finished it off with a lavender bow.

I hope you like it and that you will stop by www.canyoucaseit.com and take the challenge for yourself.  We would love to see what you create.

Have a great day!

CYCI #141 Sketch Challenge

It's challenge time again and this time it's a sketch challenge.  I found this particular one a little difficult.  I don't exactly know why, but I finally came up the the card above.  I switched the orientation of the design and used matching paper from an old paper pack I had.  I then stamped and embossed the sentiment, added white ribbon and silver sequins.

Please stop by www.canyoucaseit.com and join in the challenge.  We would love to see your creations!

Jump for Joy Frankie Halloween Card

Isn't this just the cutest!  My friend and artist Christy Hartman of CHartmandesigns.com  contacted me a while back and asked if I would like to use some of her digital stamps for my cards.  Well, of course I said YES!  This particular stamp is called Jump for Joy Frankie and you can purchase him here  along with all her other fabulous digital stamps.

I colored Frankie using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Prismacolor colored pencils.  I then gathered up some fun halloween papers and embellishements that I have collected along the way and added a tag and sentiment from Fun Stampers Journey.

This card was so fun to make and came together rather quickly.  I LOVE creating things for Halloween and fall.  The colors are so great to work with and are so bright and cheery.

This is a great card for those of you who don't like to do scary for Halloween.  It would be just perfect to give to your grandchildren, nieces and nephews, etc. as a more fun and playful Halloween card.

Well I hope you will stop by www.chartmandesigns.com and check out all the creative goodies she has to share.

Well it feels like ages since my last post, and it actually has been.  Life has a way of keeping us busy and from the things we love to do.  But, I finally made time to create a new card.  I have received several rather large shipments  from Fun Stampers Journey and so now I have lots of goodies to play with.

This card was lots of fun and used lots of different FSJ products.  I even went as far as to decorate the inside  of the card too.

I used our FSJ heart punch to cut out these fun colorful hearts from scraps of the papers I used.  I think they made for a very cute inside of the card.  I have listed all the items used to create this card below.  All of which are available on my website  www.funstampersjourney.com/jeannebobish

CYCI Challenge # 139 - Rainbow

This week we have a super colorful challenge going on over at Can You Case It.  It is a rainbow challenge.  Here is my card that I created for this challenge.  It is rather colorful isn't it?  It was a great way to use up a lot of scraps of paper.  I cut 1/4" strips of several different colors of paper and glued them to a sheet of white card stock.  I then cut out the background die in white and adhered it to the front of my colors.  Then using a border die, which I cut from both black and white paper, I stamped the sentiment onto the white portion and glued that at the bottom.  I placed the entire piece onto a black base card which measures 5 x 6.5".  I will need to make a custom envelope for this card, but really liked the black border around the busy focal point.  What do you think?

Why not stop by www.canyoucaseit.com this week and show off your colors!!!  We would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by!
See you next time!

CYCI #138 Shaker Challenge

Well here it is again! Time for another challenge over at CYCI.  This week is a shaker challenge.  If you are not familiar with shaker cards, well here is your chance to try one out.  This is this first time making one for me, and it was great fun!

I started with a cream colored base card which measured 5 x 7 inches.  Then I decided to use this beautiful fall paper from Die Cuts With a View's Autumn Splendor Stack.  I first stamped a bare tree image onto the base card using a stamp from my collection and brown ink.   Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside die was used with green card stock to give the appearance of grass under the tree.  Using different small leave punches, one was an oak type leaf and the other a maple leaf, I punched leaves from several colors of card stock including red, yellow, gold, orange rust and brown.  I also added red, yellow and orange sequins for some shine.  I attached the frame and added the Fall lettering using the Fun Stampers Journey Snapshot Die set (available at www.funstampersjourney.com/jeannebobish) with brown card stock and mounted it on a rectangle of dark orange and then yellow card stock which picked up the colors in the frame.  As the final touch I glued two sequined leaves on either side of the label.

There are lots of videos on You Tube that will show how to make the shaker cards if you haven't made them before.  Why not check them out and join our challenge this week.  They are super fun to make and we would love to see your creations!

BOO! Halloween Pumpkin Mouse Card

Being a design team member at Digibox Designs gives me the opportunity to do what I really love, color adorable images and create wonderful cards from those images.  This card is one example.  I used this cute Digi Pumpkin Mouse digital stamp and colored it in using my Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolor pencils.  As I have mentioned many times, this is my favorite way to color.

I started by importing the image into my Cameo software and doing a print and cut, then colored.  I chose a black base card and then added a polka dot background paper from Doodlebug Designs Halloween Parade 6 x 6 paper pad.   I used my Fun Stampers Journey Boo die from the Snapshot Frames set (which can be purchased at www.funstampersjourney.com/jeannebobish) and the spider web and spider were cut from my Makers Mart Die of the Month for September.  (Makers Mart die of the month is a subscription service thru spellbinders).  I glued everything down and WHALA!  another cute halloween card.

If you are looking for super cute digital images for any occasion, be sure to check out www.digiboxdesigns.com they have a great selection and awesome prices!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Keep playing with those papers!

CYCI #137 Color Challenge

I need to be totally honest with you, this week's color challenge kinda thru me for a loop!  I had no idea how I was going to use Grey, Chartreuse, and Flamingo to make a card.  So I set those three colors of paper on my craft desk and stared at them for several days.  Finally, I just said  "Just Do It!"
So I started with a grey base card.  Then added a die cut mat of chartreuse thru which I weaved a 1/8 inch thick peach colored ribbon.  I then cut another mat of the peach color and used the same die set to cut out the white paper.  I stamped my flower image and colored it with Spectrum Noir Markers to match the papers.  I cut a small tag and stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice ink.  And attached it to the card with a ribbon bow.  The white piece with the flowers on it is raised to add some dimension.  All in all, I think it turned out pretty good.  I don't think this is my favorite color combination.  But I like the challenge it gave me, which forced me to think outside the box.

Products used:

Card Stock:  grey, chartreuse, flamingo (peach), white
Ink:  Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice #IP-0041
Stamp:  Fun Stampers Journey Lovely Day Stamp #AT-0188 and Stampendous Bouquet for you

I hope you like this card and that you will take the plunge and join in this week's challenge too.  And be sure to stop over to www.canyoucaseit.com and see all the wonderful creations by the design team.

Can You Case It #136 Sketch Challenge

Well, here it is, the first Sunday of September!  Can you believe it?  Where did the summer go?  Well as everyone is heading back to school, and starting to think about fall, I was pondering over this week's challenge.

It is a sketch challenge using no less than three layers.  Easy right?  Well apparently not for me.  I thought about this all week and finally it hit me!  I use layers all the time!  I was making a mountain out of a mole hill so to speak.  I decided since I have so many birthdays coming up in October, that for once, I would be prepared and make some cards and have them on hand.

I first stamped and colored this adorable birthday cake image from Fun Stampers Journey, just using some colored pencils I had laying around.  Once I saw how the cake turned out, I then needed to pick some coordinating card stock, ribbon, and buttons to match.  The rest was easy.  I embossed the top layer with a happy birthday embossing folder, stamped and die cut the sentiment and added some thin, colored ribbons to finish it off.

I now have a birthday card ready BEFORE the birthday!  That is a first for me!  Hope you like it and don't forget to stop by www.canyoucaseit.com and check out all the fabulous cards created by our design team.  Be sure to join in the fun and add your own wonderful creations!  We would sure love to see them.

Hey Pumpkin Fun Halloween Card

I don't know about you, but I just LOVE the colors of Halloween.  They are so bright and colorful.  And this card is no exception.  I fell in love with this adorable digital image from Digi Box Designs called Digi Fall Ghost.  Isn't if just the cutest!

I colored the ghost and the sentiment first with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and then enhanced the colors using my Prismacolor pencils.  I LOVE using these two products together.  I can get the most vibrant affects.

To make this card, I started with a 5x7 inch black base card.  I added the first mat of bright green and the next mat in bright orange with a chevron embossing.  I thought that the orange paper would detract from the pumpkins, but no matter what color paper I chose, I kept coming back to the orange.  The bats and stars were die cut and the sentiment came from my stash.  I colored the sentiment using the same colors I used for the digital image.  I matted the sentiment onto black paper.  I think this turned out to be just the cutest!  A perfect card for sending to a grandchild don't you think?  I hope you like it too!  Please share this blog with all your paper crafting friends.  And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a thing!  And while you are at it, stop by www.digiboxdesigns.com for the most adorable digital images at only 60 cents!!!!!

Keep playing with those papers!

CYCI Challenge #135 - Back to School

Another Sunday, another challenge over at Can You Case It.   This week's challenge is a Back to School theme.  I had no idea what or how I was going to come up with a card for this challenge.  As some of you may know, I purchase a lot of my supplies at yard sales and from Craig's list.  As I rooted thru a large pile of scrapbook papers from one of my purchases, I came across some that were school themed.  So I cut a piece of the brown scrapbook paper that had a lot of school related graffiti on it which I thought would make for a great background.  I matted it first onto red and then attached to a black base card.  I then cut three square school related images from another sheet of scrapbook paper.  They were then mounted on red and yellow stitched squares using my cottage cutz stitched squares dies.  Then I used a larger pierced square die from my Sizzix Square Flip Its #2 die set in black. The "school days" strip was cut from yet another piece of scrapbook paper which I mounted on black and then glued two red apple buttons on either side.  Considering I had no idea what I was going to do for this challenge, I am really happy with how this card turned out.  I was also able to use my high school colors which were red and yellow.

I hope you like this card too!  Please stop by www.canyoucaseit.com and see all the wonderful design team's creations.  Maybe they will inspire you to join in too!

Digi Pumpkin Kid Halloween Card

This is my first Halloween card of the season!  I chose this adorable digital image from  DigiBox Designs.   If you are looking for a cute digital file for Halloween, there are several on the site.  You can find this one here and for .60 cents, you won't find a better bargain!  There are several  other designs to choose from too!

I first did a print and cut of the image with my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I colored it using my Prismacolor colored pencils.  I cut out a large Tim Holtz tag from black card stock.  I then matted the center of the tag, first with an orange printed Halloween  paper and then again with a green printed Halloween paper.  I then found a "Trick or Treat" sticker that I placed on black card stock and then attached to the tag along with my colored image.  The base is a 5 x 7 black card.  I added a mat of some more colorful printed Halloween themed paper.  The tag was then attached at an angle.  I had some great orange ribbon in my stash that reads "Happy Halloween.  I tied a bow with that ribbon and added it to the top of the tag.

I think it made for a cute, colorful and certainly fun Halloween card!  I hope you enjoy it!  Please stop by DigiBox designs and check out all their awesome digital images.  They are sooooo cute and so fun to color!

Heaven Sent 6 x 6 Mini Photo Album

Here is my latest mini photo album.  I have been working hard on this one.  Using a tutorial by Catherine Chapdelaine,  and  Prima's  Heaven Sent paper collection I created this wonderful keepsake.  This paper collection is beautiful!  It features lots of fun vintage baby characters such as bunnies, lambs, teddy bears and much more.  It is also suitable for either a boy or a girl.  I have included some die cut and punched lace elements to the album along with Prima's coordinating paper flowers and some from my stash.

This book has loads of room for smaller or cropped photos.  To see a complete walk thru of the album showing the features of all the pockets and flaps along with photo sizes that can be used in this album, you can watch the video:

This is a perfect album for giving to that new mom as a shower gift.  She can start using it as soon as the baby arrives.  It would also be perfect for a grandma to show off photos of her new grand baby.   If you know someone who is expecting and would like to purchase this album for them, you can do so by going to my Ebay store  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Beautiful-Handmade-Heaven-Sent-6-x-6-Interactive-Mini-Baby-Photo-Album-/172319905371?hash=item281f11165b:g:1TsAAOSwHoFXwIbz  I also have several other albums available.  What a beautiful and unique way to  store and display those precious family photos.

CYCI #134 Pet Challenge

Here it is Sunday again and you know what that means.....another challenge over at Can You Case It!  This week's challenge was a pet sketch challenge.  Considering that I have a pet dog Zena, who is usually spending most of her time with me in my craft room, I felt I would have to use a dog of some sort as the basis for my card.    Here is a picture of my girl...

I found a free digital stamp that I really liked and colored it using both my Spectrum Noir markers and my Prismacolor Colored pencils.  Then, continuing with the dog theme, I added an embossed mat using my Darice Paw Print embossing folder and then offset that on another slightly larger mat of a dark pink color.  I found this colorful celebration designer paper in my stash and used it as the background and glued everything on a dark blue base card.  I cut out just the balloon portion of one of my favorite stamps and colored it using the same tools I used for the dog and then glued them to the card and coated them with glossy accents.  Using a fine line black marker, I drew the strings and bow around the dog's neck.   Also, from my stash I found just the perfect blue and pink ribbon, dog bone, pink, green, and blue buttons to add the final touches to this card.

Zena really inspired me for this one and I LOVE how it turned out.  I love the colors and the colorful embellishments.  I hope you like it too!

Let your pet inspire you to join our challenge this week!  We love to see your creations!

CYCI Challenge #133 A Color Challenge

It's Sunday again, and you know what that means, another challenge over at CanYouCaseIt.com!  This week we have a color challenge.  I decided to use some of my new Fun Stampers Journey products to create this weeks card.

I started with a base card using whip cream.  I then added mats of Lemon Grass, Whip Cream and Lemon Drop.  I stamped the sentiment, leaves, and flower using Black Licorice ink.  Using the Just Because  Stamp Set, the flower was stamped on watercolor paper and then colored in with a watercolor marker.  The leaves were stamped on the whip cream paper and colored with an alcohol marker.

I fussy cut the flower and leaves and mounted the flower onto foam squares to give it some dimension.  I then filled in the center of the flower with Journey Glaze and attached the sequins also using Journey Glaze.

I was so pleased with how bright and cheery this card turned out using a minimal amount of supplies.  I love the colors!  After I had finished the card, I realized that I simply could have stamped the flower onto the Lemon Drop paper and the leaves on the Lemon Grass paper and wouldn't have had to do any coloring.  Oh well, hindsight is 20-20!

Come on and show off your ceativity!  Join us for this week's challege at Can You Case It!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful as a Flower Tag

Today I felt like being a little more adventurous and started to play with some of my new paper crafting toys!  I thought today I would give a tag a try.  I used three of my new stamp sets and some of my new papers.  I never really have a set picture in my head when I begin, my designs just sort of evolve as I go.

I started with the flower stamp and stamped it on some Whip Cream Paper using Black Licorice ink.   I decided to color one in lavender and one in pink with colored pencils. After coloring, I used Gamsol and blending stumps to blend the color.

Using the leaf stamp and Black Licorice ink, I stamped several of the leaves onto Lemon Grass paper.  I fussy cut both the flowers and the leaves.  The tag was die cut from Deep Lilac paper.  I then cut a piece of Lavender Fusion which measured 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" and attached it to the center of the tag.  I then glued the flowers and leaves onto the tag.

Using the bee stamp and Licorice ink, I stamped on bee onto both Lemon Drop and Whip Cream papers.  I fussy cut the entire bee from the Lemon Drop paper and just the wings from the Whip Cream paper.  I then glued the white wings onto the bee.

The sentiment was also stamped onto Whip Cream paper with Licorice ink.  Then using my stitched rectangle dies I cut out the sentiment and glued it to the bottom corner of the tag.  I painted the wings of the bee using a sparkle pen and the yellow portions of the stamens with a yellow glitter gel pen.

To finish off the tag, I added a Lt. Orchid satin ribbon to the tag and then glued a small bow of the same ribbon to the loop of the tag.

I think for my first tag, it turned out really pretty and I really had fun creating it.  I hope you will give it a try!
