What Have Been Up To? - Valentine Tree

Well I thought I would share with you some non-paper crafting that I have been up to.  We decided to keep up our Christmas tree this year, however, I decided to decorate it for each major holiday.  So, the first one that I chose was Valentine's Day.  Now I got a little late start on this as most of the Valentine stuff was gone from the stores.  However, I did manage to get a few things from the dollar store that I could turn into ornaments.  I was able to find some  heart shaped ornaments at Michael's on clearance and also some red Christmas ornaments at JoAnn's 80% off! The rest  of the ornaments I made myself.  Here is a picture  of the  completed tree.

I love how it turned out!  You know that pink  is my favorite color so this tree really speaks to me!

Some of the ornaments that I made were felt stuffed hearts which I sewed together, stuffed, and added flowers, ribbons, lace etc.  I made several of these in pinks and reds .

I also purchased some wooden heart cut outs that I added Valentine paper to using Mod Podge.  I then added some thin ribbon around the edges and added flowers, and ribbon, etc. to them as well.  I really like how they turned out as well.

I also learned a new craft, quilted ornaments.  I have had a ball learning and making these.  They are so fun, but my poor fingers are so sore from pushing  in all the pins!

These are just a few examples.  They are much prettier in real life.

I also used an old FSJ die that made rosettes.  I used different Valentine paper and lots of embellishments from my stash to create some paper ornaments.

I am  sorry the photos are not the best.  For some reason, my camera didn't want to cooperate.  But this gives you a few  ideas of what the tree and ornaments look like.  I had so much fun!  I am now making quilted eggs for an Easter tree!  I will share photos of it when it is all done.

I would love to know what you think  of my tree and the idea.  Please let me know in t he comments below.

I ordered some wooden eggs and bunnies, and some Easter paper so I will be making more Easter ornaments soon.  I will share those with you too  if you would like.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Spellbinder's New Release - Showered With Love Collection

As promised, today I am featuring Spellbinder's new release for this month called the Shower with Love collection.  It is adorable and you are going to love it !I am featuring three cards that I created using products from this collection.  To view the entire collection, please click here!  Unfortunately, I did not have the sentiment stamps at the time I created these cards, so I had to use sentiments from my stash.

I really can't pick a favorite from these three however I do love this first card.  I started with an A2 white base card and added a piece of white cardstock to the front.  It measures 5.25 x 4 inches.  I inked the background with some blue ink and then created the umbrella full of flowers using the Umbrella Bloom Die set from this collection.  I added some colorful flowers on the bottom of the card and finished it off with some colorful rhinestones which were added to the center of each flower.

The next card used several different items from the collection to create.  I again started with an A2 card base.  I then added a piece of blue cardstock that measured 5.25 x 4 ".  I also cut a piece of vellum the same size and embossed it using the Raindrops 3D embossing folder.  I love embossing vellum!  If you haven't tried it yet you must.  It gives it such a unique look!  Like in this example, it makes the raindrops appear white.  I then cut out and assembled the duck from the Duck with Umbrella Dies,   I used the umbrella and flowers from the Umbrella Bloom Die Set.  The duck and umbrella were popped up using foam squares.  I added some ground with green paper.

The third and final card was made using the Rain or Shine Die Set.  I used some paper from my stash for the background and created and attached the other elements from the die sit.  I stamped the sentiment and called it done!

As I said, the sentiments from the collection were not available at the time these cards were created, therefore I had to use sentiments from my stash.

As I said, I can't seem to pick a favorite from the three cards, but I really like the first two!  I would love to hear which ones you prefer best!

Be sure to check out all the new products from this collection!  I know you won't be disappointed!

Spellbinders New Release! The Painter's Garden - Susan Tierney-Cockburn Collection

Welcome to Spellbinders new release for January 10, 2023 The Painter's Garden - Susan Tierney-Cockburn Collection!.  I have two cards to show you today using both the Gerber Daisy and Ladybugs Die Set  and the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder.  I used both of these items on each card.  There are many more items in this collection.  To check them all out, just click here .  If you love florals, you are going to love this collection!  All the flowers are so realistic, it is hard to tell that they are made of paper!

The first card was made from an A2 white card base, to which I added a trellis embossed piece of light green cardstock.  I then constructed two of the Gerber daisies in both yellow and orange and added then and a ladybug to the front  of the card.  I then glimmered the sentiment onto white cardstock using Polished Brass foil.

For the second card, I decided to make a mini slim line.  I started with a white base and constructed the card basically the same as the first only made a red daisy and used red foil for the sentiment.  The sentiments on each card were popped up with foam squares.

I love Gerber daisies and I love how these cards turned out!  The flowers are just gorgeous especially against the 3D embossing folder!  All the products are listed below for your convenience. Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will have the other new release featured.  You are gonna love it!

Spellbinders New Cark Kit of the Month for January 2023

Today I am showing off the last of the club kits for January 2023.  This is the new Quick and Easy Card Kit of the month.  If  you subscribed to this club in the past,  please look closely as it has changed for the new year.  These are the cards I have created using the new kit.  I hope you like them.

All these cards were created using only the products in the kit.  The following card was created using the club kit add-on sold separately.  I made a mistake when creating this card as I thought her cheeks were her eyes LOL.  But I liked how she looked, so I left her that way.

If you like the add-on, you can purchase it separately.  It is a die which creates the above planter and plants (some of the items used in the last card were from the kit also).

I hope you enjoyed checking out all of the cards that make up this  months club kits that I have shown and posted over the last several days.  Be sure to stay tuned on January 10th when I will show off Spellbinders new releases for January!  You won't want to miss those either!  They are super cute!

Also check back the first eight days of each month to see all the new clubs for that month.  I will be featuring projects that I made  using those clubs and posting about them here on my blog.

Spellbinders Die of the Month for January 2020 - Sentimental Amphersand

Today's post is featuring the Die of the Month Club from Spellbinders for January 2023.  It is entitled the Sentimental Amphersand and makes for a beautiful card.  I am sure you will feel that way too!

I really enjoyed creating this card.  I started with a white A2 base card, and added some pretty purple cardstock as a matt and then some gingham paper for the background.  The large "E" was cut from black cardstock so that it would pop and then I added some mirrored gold cardstock for the decorative part.  I then added some purple and pink small flowers to the bottom of the amphersand.   The sentiment was cut from white cardstock with purple underneath and popped up with foam squares.

I think that it made for a perfect birthday card!  I hope you like it.  To check out all of this month's Clubs, please click here.  Be sure to check back tomorrow when I feature the final club of the month.  You won't want to miss that!

Spellbinders GOM-January 2023 Flower Deliver

Today I am sharing the new Hot Foil Glimmer Club of the Month for January 2023 which is called Flower Deliver.  This adorable club features a Volkswagen Beetle car and a small bouquet of flowers.  I think you are going to like it as much as I do!

I started this card with a white A2 card base to which I added a matt of Mirrored Red cardstock.  I then embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Diamond Plaid Embossing Folder.  These were centered and attached to the front of the card.  Next I hot foiled the flower  design using gold foil on white cardstock.  I then colored the flowers using copic markers and cut using included die .  Next I foiled the car using red foil and cut it out with the matching die.  It was glued to the front of the card using liquid adhesive.  I then popped the flowers up with foam dots and attached them to the roof of the car.  The for you tag and the Happy birthday were both foiled using gold foil.  The for you was attached with liquid adhesive and a small piece of red twine.  The sentiment was cut out and popped up across the bottom of the card.

I like how neat and simple this card came out.  It makes for a perfect and fun Birthday Card.  I really like the shiny red accents and all the glimmer.  Be sure to check out this and all the other fabulous club kits spellbinders has to offer!  Don't forget to stop back tomorrow as I have two more clubs for this month to share with you!  You won't want to miss out on those!

Spellbinders New Stitching Die of the Month for January 2023 plus the Add On!

If you love to stitch on your cards, you are going to love Spellbinders new club kit for 2023.  It is called the Stitching Die of the Month and features a stitching die/dies and this month's has an add on which features so many sentiments, These dies work even if you are not into stitching with them.  They emboss, deboss and cut so you can get several different affects without even stitching.  Unfortunately this particular kit is already sold out for this month, so you will have to wait until Feb first to order the next kit.  Once they are sold out, they will not be restocked!  If you were  one of the lucky ones to get your hands on this particular club, this card may inspire you or give you some ideas for different ways to use yours!

I started out with an white A2 size  base card to which I cut a cover piece in blue which measures the same size as the front of the card.  This was embroidered in a turquois and a white thread to various sections as shown above.  I then cut the center portion from a purple cardstock and embroidered it with purple thread.  It was then popped up on the center of the cover piece.  Finally I cut the last star section from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Add On using black ink.  This was then attached to the center of the purple piece also as shown.

I love the colors and how this card turned out.  You could easily create it in any color scheme you prefer.  It is fun to stitch these cards, but as I said they are just as striking by just die cutting them.  I hope if you were lucky enough to get one, you will give it a try.

I only have three more kits to share with you, so be sure to stop back tomorrow and see what else I have in store!  You can check on all of the clubs here and make sure you get yours before they sell out!

Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die of the Month for January 2023 - Hydrangea Bouquet

Today I am showing off two cards I made using the clear stamp and die of the month for January 2023.  I made two and couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I am showing off both of them!  As you know, I love to color and both cards gave me the opportunity to do so along with glimmering my sentiments, another favorite of mine.

The first card uses a pretty pink background paper from my stash that was cut to 4 x 5.25 inches so that there was a white border around the outside.  I then cut a square from white cardstock using the Fluted Classic Squares die.  This was then foiled using the Birthday Hugs & Wishes Glimmer plate with gold foil.  The square was then popped up using foam squares.  To finish off this first card, I then stamped two of the small images onto X-press it cardstock and colored them with my copic markers.  They were cut out using the coordinating dies and attached to opposite corners of the square.

Here is a close up of the finished card:

For the second card I used the embossing folder of the month to emboss some white cardstock which was cut slightly smaller than the A2 card base (same as above).  Next, I stamped the larger image onto X-press it cardstock and colored it using my copic markers.  It was then cut out using the coordinating die.  I adhered it to the embossed piece and then attached both to the front of the card base.  For the final touch I glimmered the sentiment using the More Sentiments Glimmer Plate and gold foil.  It was then cut out and popped up on the front of the card.  I really like how the background white on white turned out with the image being the only pop of color.

Here is a close up of the second card:

I hope you liked these two examples and that they will encourage you to give it a try for yourself!  You can check out this and all of Spellbinders monthly clubs by clicking here.

Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month for January 2023 Stylized Trellis

Today is the third day of the month and you know what that means, the third club I am featuring  Today it will be the embossing folder of the month club.  This beautiful folder is called the Stylized Trellis and will create a beautiful design that will be embossed onto your background paper.  I decided to emboss mine onto vellum for a very special look.  I also chose orange colors for this card.  I don't think orange gets used much and I am not an orange person, but think that it sometimes makes for beautiful cards.

For this card, I wanted to show off the beautify of the embossing folder, so I decided to emboss a piece of vellum.  The embossing comes out beautifully!  The embossed areas appear to be almost white.  To this I added a piece of orange cardstock underneath to make the embossed areas of the vellum really show off.  I adhered a grosgrain orange ribbon with a simple not around the two  pieces of paper and then attached them to a white A2 card base.  I used the Be Bold Glimmer Sentiment Plates for the sentiment and Tangerine Orange Foil.  It matched perfectly with my orange theme.  I felt that it still needed something so I decided to cut three orange flowers from the LDOM-JAN23 which I featured in a previous post.  If you haven't seen it or don;t remember it you can view it here.  The sentiment was cut out and popped up using foam squares and the flowers were attached with liquid glue.

It was a very quick and easy card to make.  I hope you like it and will check out all the new spellbinders monthly club kits.  I will be using the folder again soon with another monthly club, so be sure to check back.  You won't want to miss  it!

Spellbinders 3D Embossing Folder of the Month for January 2023

Today is the second day of the new year!  I hope yours is going well.  I am starting off not so good with a really bad cold.  Not fun!

But anyway, today I am featuring the new club kit for this year.  The 3DEOM-JAN23 Called the Floral Archway is a 3D embossing folder.  This is such a beautiful folder and I decided to color the embossed images on mine!  It gives it a totally different look and I love how it turned out.

This is a new club for this year and I hope you will give it a look,  I am sure you won't be disappointed!

I started out again with an A2 base card to which I added some soft pink as a matt.  I then embossed a piece of EX-press it blending cardstock and colored it with my copic markers.   I then cut out the sentiment from the Daisy Delight Garden Shutters die set and that finished my card!  It was so easy.  I will admit the coloring took some time, but it was worth it in the end!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another great January Club from Spellbinders!  You won't want to miss it!  Be sure to check out all of Spellbinder's new club kits.  They have make some changes and you will definitely want to check them all out here
