New Collection from Spellbinders Shopping Cart Too!

This post is featuring a fun new collection from Spellbinders and Becky Roberts.  It is entitled Shopping Cart Too!  Much like the original set, this has the shopping card heading in the opposite direction along with several new sets of add ons that can fill your card with all kinds of fun items!

I created two cards for this collection.   One is an A2 card and the other is a 5x7 card.  All the supplies used for both cards are listed below.

For the first card, I started with a 5x7 white base card which I matted with some grey cardstock and then matted again with a very lightly printed grey paper.  I assembled the card using brush silver and black cardstock.  Then I cut all the garden themed items from the three sets of add ons to fill my cart and card front.  The sentiment was from the original stamp set (I don't have the new one yet).    The wheel marks under the cart were created using a  ruler and a fine liner pen.

The second card was still a gardening theme, but I wanted a card that didn't use the shopping cart.  I started with an A2 card base and matted it with a dark green and added some pretty patterned paper on top of that.  I cut all the pieces except the branch from the In The Garden Set.  The branch was the die that came with the  Card Kit of the Month for May 22 - Koala Smiles.

I then used gold foil and the Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer plate to foil the sentiment which was popped up using foam squares.

I hope you like both cards!  Which one is your favorite?  Please let me know in the comments below.  Be sure to check out this entire collection as I am sure you will find some "must have" pieces!

Spellbinders New Release - Stitched Alphabet

Today I am featuring a new release from Spellbinders.  It is called the Stitched Alphabet and is exactly what the name says.  The letters of the alphabet with stitching on them.  If you love the look of stitched cards, you are going to love this collection.

Since I was given these random letters and punctuation it was a real challenge to come up with different cards.  So for the first card I started with an A2 white base card and added some green striped paper onto a green cardstock mat.  I also used the Fluted Classic Ovals in green with a white center.  The Letter  f  was cut from white and stitched with green floss.  I also added some of the Be Bold Upper Case Alphabet to complete my sentiment.  I also used the Butterfly Card Creator and yellow, orange,  and black cardstock for the butterfly and flowers.  The enamel dots were added as a final embellishment.

The next card is a little different in that it measures 4.5 x 6.25 (or an A6 size card).  I chose this size in order to fit all the elements I wanted to use without any overlaps.  I started with  a black background in which I die cut the border from the DOM-FEB22 along the top and bottom of the card base.  I stitched the border with white thread.  Then I cut the oval from the same set from white cardstock and stitched it in black.  The "j" was cut from white cardstock and also stitched in black. It was glued to the background piece which was also cut from black cardstock and adhered to the center of the oval using foam squares.  The flowers were from the Mini blooms and sprigs die set and and the Petite Floral Potpourri die set.  They were cut from white cardstock with black centers and grey leaves.

Finally for the third card, I created this pretty mini slimline wedding card.  I started with a white base then added some brushed silver cardstock to form a matt.  I then added a smaller piece of white cardstock which was embossed with the Diamond Plaid embossing folder and attached onto the silver mat.  Next I needed a Mr. and Mrs. so those letters were also cut from the brushed silver cardstock using the Be Bold Uppercase Alphabet Die Set.  The ampersand was cut from white cardstock and backed with the brushed silver and also stitched in silver.  I used the Fashion Silver Embellishments to finish off this card.

I can't seem to pick a favorite.  Can you?  Please let me know in the comments below.  If you would like to enhance your alphabet even more, you can use either the Stitched Alphabet Descriptors stamp set or the Stitched Alphabet Glimmer Descriptors glimmer plates to further enhance your cards.

3D Oven Vignette Spellbinders APG Die of the Month May 2022

This month's Spellbinders APG of the Month for May is super cute!  It is a 3-d Oven Vignette and can be folded up to fit in an envelope for mailing.  To see all the Club Kits from spellbinders, just click here.  I decided to create both the 3d Stove and a card using this adorable die set!

When I was a child, my grandmother's favorite color was pink.  She even had a pink kitchen with a pink refrigerator and stove.  So that was my inspiration for creating this pink oven.

This die set comes complete with all the pieces necessary to complete this oven, all you need to add is cardstock and glue!.

I also decided to show how you can also use this die set to make a regular A2 card.

For this oven, I decided to do a more modern oven in stainless steel using mirrored silver cardstock.

Stitched Color Wheel - Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die of the Month

Today I am featuring this month's Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die of the Month Kit for May of 2022.  It has a beautifully stitched color wheel along with tags for your favorite colors of floss.  All the products used are at the end of this post.  To learn about all of Spellbinders Monthly Clubs, just click here.

I started this card off with a white A2 card base.  I then added a piece of watercolored decorative paper for the background.  The color wheel was die cut from white cardstock and I used various colors of embroidery thread from my stash to sew in each color.  It was then adhered to the front top left of the card.

The thread holder was then cut also from white cardstock.  I decided to wrap some variegated brown thread around it and stamped the bottom with black ink.  I then added a number using a black ink pen.

The sentiment was also stamped with black ink and cut out using the matching die.  It was placed onto a piece of pink cardstock with a fishtail cut out of the side and then popped up onto the card using foam squares.

As a final touch, I added some colorful clear gems to the front from my stash.

Stitched Hello! Spellbinders Die of the Month for May 22

Well here it is May 1 and I have more posts featuring some of the Spellbinders Monthly Club kits.  This month I am starting off with the Stitched Hello DOM-MAY22.  For all of you who love stitched cards, you are going to love this kit!  I features a stitched background piece and then separate letters that spell out "Hello".  Here is my take on this kit.  All the products used will be listed at the end of this post.   For more information  on Spellbinders Kits of the Month please click here

I wanted to do colorful for this fun card.  I started with an A2 white base card to which I added some Black Glitter Paper from my stash for the background which was cut to 5.25 x 4 inches and attached to the front of the card.

I then cut the stitched portion of the die from white cardstock and stitched the flowers and leaves using Spellbinders Variegated Embossing thread, doing the flowers in different colors and the leaves in a soft green.  I also used Spellbinders size 24 needle to do the stitching.

When done, the stitched portion was glued to the front of the card.  I then cut each of the letters from colored cardstock to coordinate with the colors of some of the flowers.  These were then attached to the background and popped up with foam squares.

I really like how all the colors pop up off the black background.  I think it makes for a very striking card!
