Well here it is May 1 and I have more posts featuring some of the Spellbinders Monthly Club kits. This month I am starting off with the Stitched Hello DOM-MAY22. For all of you who love stitched cards, you are going to love this kit! I features a stitched background piece and then separate letters that spell out "Hello". Here is my take on this kit. I wanted to do colorful for this fun card. I started with an A2 white base card to which I added some Black Glitter Paper from my stash for the background which was cut to 5.25 x 4 inches and attached to the front of the card.
I then cut the stitched portion of the die from white cardstock and stitched the flowers and leaves using Spellbinders Variegated Embossing thread, doing the flowers in different colors and the leaves in a soft green. I also used Spellbinders size 24 needle to do the stitching.
When done, the stitched portion was glued to the front of the card. I then cut each of the letters from colored cardstock to coordinate with the colors of some of the flowers. These were then attached to the background and popped up with foam squares.
I really like how all the colors pop up off the black background. I think it makes for a very striking card!
