Stampendous Spring Collection Released at Spellbinders!

This month Spellbinders released some of their own products along with some  Stampendous  Beautiful Spring Collection.  This collection is full of butterflies, birds and spring florals to make beautiful cards.  Today I have three examples using 3 products from this collection.

These cards were so easy and fun to create.  I started with the center card.  I used an A2 white card base and added a frame of dark blue paper.  Then using the Stampendous Quick Card Backgrounds - Joy of Spring papers, I cut out a square using the Petite Picot Squares from Spellbinders.  I then cut a white piece of cardstock using the postage edge ovals and ink blended some light blue ink onto the oval.  Then I stamped the sentiment, bird, and ground, using the Stampendous Sweet Song stamp set.  This was then colored with copic markers and popped up using foam squares onto the center of the square piece.  I then added some blue gems from my stash to finish it off.

For this second card, I also started with a white A2card base and added a mat of some mauve colored cardstock.   To this I added a slightly smaller piece of the Stampendous Quick Card Backgrounds - Joy of Spring.  This paper is so pretty and makes creating backgrounds super eashy!  I then stamped my sentiment and image onto white cardstock using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.  I  cut out the image using the Fancy Edge Rectangles and colored the flowers with my copic markers.  The rectangle was then popped up onto the front of the card using foam squares.  I added some pink gems from my stash as a final touch.

Once again this card started with a white A2 cardbase.  I then added the Stampendous Quick Card Background paper as a mat.  Then I cut  a blue and a white oval with the decorative edge with the Fluted Classic Ovals.  I cut the yellow plain oval from the same set.  The yellow oval was popped up using foam squares.  I then stamped the image  from the Stampendous Bird Song stamp set but only used the florals.  For the top floral I masked  off the pink flower and just stamped the 3 smaller flowers.  They were all colored with my copic markers and cut out using my Brother Scan and Cut.  But if you don't have a Scan n Cut these can easily be fussy cut.  I then added the sentiment to the center white oval with Cobalt Blue foil using my Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Stylish Script Thank You and Birthday glimmer plate.  Then the flowers were placed as shown in the photo and popped up where needed.  As a final touch, I decided to add some blue gems from my stash.

I hope  these cards inspired you and that you will give this collection a look.  You won't be disappointed!  You can see the complete collection here.

Spellbinders New Release Day! The Victorian Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn

Today is release day over at Spellbinders, so I am sure you are going to want to check this release out!  I am a sucker for anything cup or teapot related so when I saw this beautiful die set, I knew I had to have it!  The first piece from this collection that I am sharing is the Teacup and Saucer Die set. along with the Victorian Garden Foliage, the  Camellia, and the Southern Magnolia.  Here is a  photo of all of my projects for this collection!  But don't think this is all!  There is lots more being released today.  To see the whole release, just click here

The first three  cards I will share with you use the Teacup and Saucer die set from this new collection.  Here  is the first one:

For this card I started with an A card base to which I added some soft pink plaid and light blue for the background.  I wanted the cup to look as though it were setting on a table.  I then cut the cup and saucer from printed paper being sure to center the floral motif in the center of the teacup.  I then added some shading to both the cup and saucer using my copic markers.  The spoon was added with brushed silver cardstock and was cut using the Dish It up Dies.  The sentiment was stamped from my stash using black ink.  I finished this card off by adding some pink jewels and popping up the teacup with foam squares.

For the next card, I decided to create a shaker card  using the teacup.  Here is a photo of the finished project.

It was created in much the same way as the first card, except for the fact that the inside of the cup is a shaker.  I added some brown colored seed beads from my collection to represent the beverage.  I then decided to add some fun colorful flowers from the Petite Floral Potpourri die set to coordinate with the stripe colors on the cup.  The sentiment was stamped using black ink and a sentiment stamp from my collection.    As a final touch, I added some fashion gold  embellishments to the center of each flower and shaded the cup and saucer with my copic markers

For the third project, I still couldn't resist using the cup and saucer and filling it with beautiful Camellias and Victorian Garden Folliage.

This card is a 5x 7 it gave me a little more room to work with.  I started out with a white base card to which I added a mat of pink striped paper for the background.  The cup and saucer was cut from a light pink printed paper from my stash and shaded with a pink copic marker.  It was popped up onto the card using foam squares.  I then used the Camellia Die and the Garden Foliage dies from this new collection to fill the teacup with beautiful flowers and greenery/  The edges of the flowers were tipped with Distressed Ink and an Ink dauber, they were then shaped, assembled and glued along with the greenery to the front of the card.  The sentiment came from the Everyday Sentiments TI and was foiled using Bright Pink Foil and my Glimmer machine.  As a final touch, I added some pink enamel drops from my shash.

I also used the Camellia die for this card:

This card started with a white A2 base card to which I added a front of dark coral cardstock.  I then used the Scrolled Punch and Pierce Die set  and added the larges and smallest pieces to the card front as shown.  The smaller piece was backed with a yellow cardstock.

I made a large Camellia and used the Garden Foliage dies to create the flower arrangement in the lower left corner.  The sentiment was done using Tangerine Foil, my glimmer machine and the Elegant Occasion Sentiments.  It was cut out and popped up using foam squares.   As a final touch I found some pretty glimmery enamel dots that I placed across the center of the card.

This final card was probably the most fun to create:

This too is an A2 white card base.  It was then matted with some brushed gold cardstock.  I then used a piece of Yupo White Cardstock and some alchohol inks to create this pretty orange background.   Once dry I lightly sprayed it with some gold glimmer spray from my stash and embossed it with the Stylized Trellis Embossing folder.  It was then cut slightly smaller than the gold piece and glued on top of it.  The gold ribbon and bow were created using The mini bow die and a strip of the brushed gold cardstock.  I then made and assembled a Southern Magnolia from this new collection.  The inside of the petals were shaded lightly with a yellow copic marker.  It was then glued to the front center of the card.  I added the sentiment using Matte Gold Foil and my Glimmer Machine to foil the Everday Sentiments II onto white cardstock which was then cut out and popped up onto the card front using foam squares.  As a final addition I added some Fashion Gold Embellishments for a little extra bling.

I hope you like all these examples from the new collection!  I would love to hear which one is your favorite!  Please check out all the new releases over at Spellbinders by clicking here.  There are certainly some really special items available!

Here are photos of each individual card:

There is so much paper and ephemera left over you could easily make many more card/projects.  I hope you like these cards and will find some inspiration of your own to create using this fabulous kit.

Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month for March 2023 - Stylized Calla Lily

Today I am featuring Spellbinders Embossing Folder of the Month Club for March 2023.  It is called the Stylized Calla Lily and features a beautiful overall design.

Today I created a very simple card style.  If you change the colors it would make  a perfect masculine card which we all struggle with.  This card went together so quickly.  It is the perfect last minute card for any occasion.

I started off with a white A2 base card to which I added a matte  of a dark peach color.  Next I used the embossing folder to emboss a piece of lighter peach cardstock and used the debossed side.  This was then attached to the matte on the front of the card.

For the sentiment I used the one from the Large Die of the Month for March 2023 (flowering tree and collapsible card base) shown to you yesterday.  As a final touch I added some dark peach enamel dots to the front.

Like I said, this is such a quick and easy card, just change the sentiment and it is ready for any occasion!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow when I will be showing you the last of this months club kits.  I am sure you won't want to miss that!  To see all the club kits Spellbinders offers each month, simply click here.

Spellbinders Die of the Month for March 2023 Floral Butterfly Card Front

This month's die of the month from Spellbinders is simply gorgeous.  It creates the most beautiful card front.  You can use it all or just portions to create your beautiful cards.  I  have used pretty much all of the dies to create the card you see below.  I also used a very different color scheme for this one.

For this card, I started, as usual, with a white A2 card base.  To it I added some pretty decorative paper the same size as the card front.  I then cut the frame piece from the die set twice from brushed gold cardstock.  I pieced them together on the top and bottom of the card to create a full size card front.  I then cut out two of the butterflies from a coordinating card stock and glued them to the butterflies on the front of the card.  I then cut out several of the filigree pieces from different card stocks to use the negative pieces so I could fill in some of the flowers and leaves.

The sentiment was cut from white cardstocck first and then from the darkest color;  They were then layered and glued together with the darkest one on the top.  It was placed in the center opening section of the card front along with two of the flowers, one on each side of the sentiment.

This made the most stunning card.;   I hope you like it.  There are so many different ways you can use this set!  Your only limitation is your imagination.  To see all of this month's club kits, simply click here.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow when I will have another club kit to show off.  You won't want to miss that!

Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for March 2023

I am a little late in posting this today as I just received a new sewing machine and have been playing with it all day.  The time just kind of got away from me.  But, nevertheless, I am here to share another monthly club from Spellbinders.  It is the Large Die of the Month entitled Flowering Tree and Collapsible Card base.  This fabulous die set creates a beautiful 3D card that would make anyone's day.

I started this card by using the die set and creating a blue background and base.   I then cut out the tree from brown cardstock and adorned it with peach and light peach flowers and green leaves.  I used the same cardstock that I used for the flowers to add the Sentiment which is also part of this set.  For a little something different, I decided to add a sun and some clouds to the sky behind the tree.  They are hard to see, but there nonetheless.   This card will collapse to fit into an A2 size envelope.  A great birthday card to give to that special someone!

Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will have more Club kits to share with you.  To see all of this month's club kits simply click here.

Spellbinders Glimmer Plat of the Month for March 2023 - So Kind of You

Today I am showing off the project I made using this month's GOM-MAR23 entitled So Kind of You.  This is a fancy glimmer plate set that creates a beautiful finished card.  This time I foiled on colored cardstock which achieved a beautiful look.  This turned out to be a really quick, clean and simple card.

This card, as most cards I make began with a white A2 sized card base to it I added a piece of dark blue cardstock which was glimmered  on the top and bottom using the glimmer plate of the month and cobalt foil.  The center section was foiled using the same set only this time on white cardstock using cobalt foil.  It was cut out using the matching die and placed across the center of the card.  I then cut out the oval  piece from the same dark blue cardstock and foiled it using silver foil and popped it up using foam squares.

I think this made for a very elegant looking card.  It was very simple and quick to make and if you haven't tried foiling on colored cardstock, well you must give it a try.  It is so easy and so pretty.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow when I will be featuring another one of Spellbinders monthly club kits.  To view all the club kits for this month, please click here.

Spellbinders Clear Stamp and Die of the Month plus 3DEmbossing Folder of the Month

In this post I am sharing two different monthly clubs from Spellbinders. I am showing two different clubs, because I used them together on one card.  I am showing both the 3D Embossing Folder of the month and the Clear Stamp/Die of the month.

For the first card, I started with an A2 size white card base.  I then stamped and embossed the butterflies, centerpiece, and sentiment in gold embossing powder.  They were then colored using my copic markers.  I used the matching die set to cut out the individual pieces.  I used a piece of brushed gold as a border and some pretty printed paper from my stash as the background.  The sentiment piece was popped up using foam squares and  the two butterflies were glued down on one side only.  To finish off this card I added some Fashion Gold Embellishments.

The second card used two different clubs from Spellbinders.  Again I started with an A2 white base card.  To this I added a pink frame.  For the background, I used the 3D embossing folder of the month and embossed the background.  I LOVE this folder.  The design is so pretty and prominent.  I am sure this folder will be getting a lot of use in the future!  I then stamped the sentiment piece onto white cardstock using black ink.  I colored the flowers by stamping then with Pink ink.  It was then popped up onto the card front using foam squares.  As a final touch, I added some pretty pink gems from my stash.

I was pleased to see how well the embossing folder showed up in this picture.  You can definitely see the design clearly.  I think that you will get lots of use from this folder too.  To see all the monthly clubs and products Spellbinders has to offer, please click here.

Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will have more monthly club  projects to show you!  I am sure you won't want to miss out!

Spellbinders Stitched Die of the Month for March - Nested Layered Stitched Petal and Add On

Today is the first of March and as usual that means Spellbinders is launching is new club kits of the month for March.  In the next several days, I will be showing my creations using these club kits.  Today is day 1 and I am featuring the Stitching Die of the Month.  It is called the Nested Layered Stitched Petal.  I have created two cards using this die set.  If you love to stitch on your cards or the look of stitching on your cards, this set is for you!

The first card I made was actually the black and red one.  To create that card, I started with a white  A2 card base.  I added the background piece which was die cut using black cardstock. The white base  card showed thru making for an interesting background.   I then cut the center stitched portion from red and did the stitching in white thread.  I cut the center piece from white card stock and used the add on to add the thank you also in black cardstock.  As a final touch, I added some red gems from my stash to the center of the stitched areas.

For my second example, I started with a white A2 card base.  To this I added a dark pink cardstock mat and a printed decorative pink paper as the background.  I then cut the main centerpiece from pink cardstock to coordinate with the background.  I chose too stitch the designs using more of the dark pink cardstock and dark pink thread.  This was then popped up over the decorative background using foam squares.  I then cut the centerpiece from white card stock and foiled the sentiment using Dark Pink Foil and the Celebrate the Day (GOM - APR20)  glimmer plate.  This piece was also popped up using foam squares.  As a final touch I added some pretty pink gems to the center of each stitched area from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed these two examples and that they inspired you to want to order this set and create your own stitched cards.  Be sure to check out all of Spellbinders clubs for this month by clicking here.

Check back tomorrow when I will have another new club kit for this month to show you!
