Playing with Dies from Lawn Fawn and Spellbinders to Make Cards for Fall

Today I am showing off two cards that I randomly made while playing with different die sets and different products from different companies.  I love to mix and match to come up with some really original cards.  Here are the two I created (as alway, products used are listed at the end of this post)

For this first card I started with an A2 card base and added a white cardstock mat that I ink blended some purple, dark blue and lighter blue ink on to create a sky.  Then I took a piece of green pattern paper and just cut a curve in it with my scissors to create a ground.  The two pieces were glued together, trimmed and placed on the front of the card.  Next I cut out the house and used the Halloween add ons along with some spellbinders pieces to create this spooky, cute  Halloween scene.  I inked all the pieces with various colored inks and glued all the pieces to the front of the card.  I found and old spellbinders die which spelled BOO! in my stash with made the perfect sentiment for that card.

For the second card, I followed a sketch design from a popular challenge blog.  I didn't enter the card, but had a lot of fun creating it.  I started with a 5.25" square base card to which I added some dark yellow patterned paper.  I then created three section on the card with a solid dark yellow cardstock.  Next I embossed some cream colored paper with fall leaves using an embossing folder from my stash.  These were then arranged and glued to the front of the card as shown.  To create the scarecrow,  I die cut various colors of cardstock and assembled him for the rectangular section.  He was popped up with foam squares.  I used a newer die set for the pumpkin, leaves, and acorn.  These were all cut from copic coloring paper and colored with my copic markers.  I then arranged them as shown and popped them up onto the card as shown.  The sentiment was cut from an older Spellbinders die.

I love both of these cards for different reasons.  Both are extremely colorful, which I really like, both used mixed products which I like, and both mixed some old and new products.  I hope you like them and will consider giving them a go yourself!

You must check it out here.  This kit was so much fun, I actually have to split my post in two!  I made twelve cards with this kit and it comes with enough supplies to make 25 cards with enough stuff leftover to create even more!  I had to stop.  The cards are so beautiful, I didn't know which ones to share first.  Check back tomorrow for part two of this mega limited edition kit.  And, as always, all the products used are listed below but most cards were made using the products in the kit.

This photo shows the first 6 cards I am featuring.  Each one has it's own photo below:

The Santa and the sleigh card was the only card I used items that were not in the kit.  I used some distress ink and an ink dauber to create the background and then flicked some sparkle silk to make it appear as if it was snowing.

Hope you enjoyed checking out these six cards!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another six cards from this set.  Here is a list of what this kit contains:  It has over 300 pieces including, 25 cards and envelopes both A2 and 5x7 card bases, 15 piece die set, clear stamps, sparkly gems, holiday paper pad, stickers, 14 pieces of colored cardstock plus 4 sheets of metallic paper, 154 die cut shapes, dimensional and chipboard embellishments, red glitter alphabet stickers, sequins, gemstones, puffy stickers and sentiments, foam squares and adhesive tape.  All this in one kit!

Spellbinders Seasonal Motifs Collection - Summer Label Motifs

This is the last of the examples I have for this Seasonal Label Motifs collection.  It is an awesome one and you should definitely check it out!  There are so many beautiful dies in this collection that you won't be disappointed!  Today I am showing off two examples I have created using the Summer Label Motifs die set.  As always, I have listed the products used at the end of this post.  Be sure to check back tomorrow as I will be featuring a very special Christmas Kit!

Of course they are both done in pink, my favorite color!  The first card I created was the one on the right.  I started with an A2 card base to which I added a piece of pink metallic paper from my stash that was the same size as the card stock.  I embossed a piece of white cardstock to attach on top of the metallic paper.  Using that paper again, I die cut the label from that and some other paper from my stash.  The oval was then cut from white cardstock and using the metallic paper once again, I cut out the word "Hello" from the be bold alphabet dies and the pink metallic paper and glued it to the center of the white piece which was then popped up using foam squares.  Next, to decorate the card I chose to use the flowers and dies from the set to create the flowers, leaves, and butterfly which I added to the front of the card as shown.  I tinted some of the leaves and flowers with distress ink using an ink dauber.  The butterflies upper wings were cut from vellum.  Here is a close up of the finished card.

For the second card, I wanted to make use of the lantern from yesterday's set and so I started again with an A2 card base.  To it I added some dark pink cardstock matting it on the front and some pretty pink printed paper for the background.  The label was then cut from both dark and pink cardstock and attached to the center of the card  The lantern was cut from grey paper and a candle was also cut and attached to the backside of the lantern.  Lantern was then glued to the front of the label.  Using the Petite Floral Potpourri set, I cut out several flowers and leaves.  They were arranged and placed on the card as shown.  I added  some pink and white pearls to the centers of the flowers.  The butterfly was created using both a light and dark grey cardstock and it was attached at the lower right of the label.

Finally the sentiment was foiled using Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer plates and gold foil.  It was then cut out and popped up on the front of the card as shown.  Here is a photo of the second card.

I can't decide which one I like better, well to be honest, I like them both because they are pink!.

Anyway like I said be sure to stop back tomorrow as I will be featuring some of the cards I created using the new Santa Lane Christmas Kit from Spellbinders.  This kit is phenomenal!  You don't want to miss out on this one!

Also, remember to be on the lookout for my online videos.  I am going to start creating them again on Facebook, so be sure to check them out!  I will be posting them from my facebook page (www.facebook.com/jeannebobish)!

Spellbinders Seasonal Label Motifs Collection - Holiday Label Motifs

This post features the new Holiday Labels Motif from the Seasonal Label Motifs Collection from Spellbinders.  I loved this set when I first saw it.  I love lanterns and that is what really caught my eye.  I have two different examples to share with you today and as always, the products used are listed at the end of this post.

I used this set to create two Christmas Cards.  The first one on the left, I started with an A2 card base to which I added some green cardstock as a mat and then embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Radian Burst Embossing Folder.  I wanted it to appear as though the light was shining from the lantern.  I then applied two different distress inks using foam daubers to give the rays some color.  The lantern was then cut from brushed gold cardstock and the candle was cut out and inserted in to lantern,  They were then attached to the front of the card in the center of the burst on the embossing folder.  I then cut a red poinsettia and some green holly leaves and berries from the Christmas Blooms die set and attached them as shown.  The sentiment was done using the GOM-APR20 Celebrate the Day Glimmer Plates using Viridian Green foil.  It was cut out and framed with the same green cardstock that was used for the mat and the holly leaves.  It and the poinsettia were popped up using foam squares.  As a final touch, I placed an enamel dot in the center of my poinsettia.  Here is the finished card.

The second card is my favorite of the two.  Again, I started out with an A2 base card to which I attached some black paper with shiny gold and mat silver/gray dots scattered on the paper.  For this card I used the label and cut it from Solid black, soft yellow, and gray cardstock to match the grey dots on the background paper.  It was attached to the front of the card as shown.

I then cut the lantern from Mirror Gold cardstock and placed some vellum behind the lantern to look like frosted glass.  I then glued the candle in place and attached all to the label on the front of the card.  I love bows and needed one for the top of my lantern, so I used the mini bow die and cut one from red cardstock.  It was then attached to the top of the lantern on the front of the card.

I created three poinsettias using the dies that were included in the set and placed them across the bottom portion of the label.  Then I used some gold foil and the Holiday Sentiments 2 Glimmer plates and created the sentiment which was foiled onto white cardstock and popped up on the front of the card using foam squares.  As a final touch I added a small Fashion Gold embellishment to the center of the bow.  Here is the finished card.

I love how pretty, colorful and festive this second card is.  I hope you like them both and feel inspired to create some of your own.  Please use my Spellbinders Affiliate link or any of the product links below to purchase any items you so desire.  I would really appreciate it!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another two projects from this awesome collection!

Also, please make a note that I will be re-starting my videos on Facebook soon.  I am still working on some of the technical glitches, but hope to be up and running soon.

Spellbinders Seasonal Label Motif collection - Fall Label Motifs

I am getting near to the end of my Spellbinders New Release projects.  Today I am featuring the last collection which is the Seasonal Label Motifs.  The first season I chose to show you is the fall label motifs.  These will make beautiful fall, autumn cards you will truly enjoy making.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for another Season of Motifs.  As always, all products used are listed at the end of this post.

I decided to go with golds, oranges, and browns, for these two cards.  For the first one, I started with an A2 card base.  I then cut a piece of dark brown cardstock to cover the entire front of the card and added a fall printed paper for the background.  I used the Fall Label Motifs die set to create the mirror gold filigree along with the solid brown background.  I also used the Fall Leaves Die D Lites to add the sentiment which was also cut from dark orange cardstock.  For all the leaves, acorns, and pumpkin, I inked the edges with Distress inks (see list below for the exact color used)  I then arranged and glued them to the lower left of the label.

For the second card, I decided to go a completely different route.  I still started with an A2 card base and add a mat of dark orange cardstock that was dry embossed using the geo screen embossing folder and attached it to the front of the card as a background.  I then cut a diamond from brushed gold cardstock using the essential diamonds die and attached it to the center of the card.  I used the Fall Label Motifs set to cut out the leaves and acorns.  They were then arranged and popped up using foam squares onto the left side of the diamond.  I chose the sentiment from a stamp that was in my stash.
For the final embellishment I added three Journey Gold embellishments for the final touch.

I love fall and all the beautiful colors.  I hope I have captured some of that in these two cards and that I have inspired you too, to give them a try!  Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for another Seasonal Label set from this fabulous collection.

Spellbinders Gnome for Christmas Collection, Argyle Socks Embossing Folder

Today I am featuring two fun cards using the Argyle Socks embossing folder from the new Gnome for Christmas Collection.  One card uses some new products while the other features an older die set.  I know it is hard to see the embossing in the photos, but it really is a beautiful design that can be used year round! I have chosen to show off two Christmas cards.  I hope you like them.  As always, all the products used are listed below.

For the first card, I started with an A2 card base to which I added a mat of green glittered cardstock.  I then embossed a piece of red cardstock using the argyle socks embossing folder and attached it to the card.  Then I decided to use an older die set from last year called shopping spree.  This cute elf was created using the same green glittered cardstock for his coat and the stripes on his stockings.  I made the gold buttons using mirrored gold cardstock.

All the packages were cut from different printed cardstock to look like wrapped packages.  The ribbon and bows were cut from mirrored fold cardstock.  He was mounted onto the card front using foam squares so that his legs swing free.  Finally I used the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Plates for the sentiment with gold foil.  It was cut and popped up onto the front of the card.  Three gold sequins were added as embellishments.

This card was really fun to create!  I again started with an A2 cardbase and added a matt of mirror gold cardstock.  I then used the embossing folder to again emboss a background piece.  These were both attached to the base card.  Next I cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from red and gold cardstock and centered it on the front.  I knew it needed something else, so I added the gnome from the Holly Jolly Gnome die set from the same collection and sat him on the "C" in Christmas. His hat and arms were cut from green glitter paper.  Next I added some some Holly and berries from the Holiday Blooms die set using the green glitter foam again.  I also used some red glitter paper for the berries.  I thought this card came out really cute too.  What do you think?

Which one is your favorite?  Let me know in the commecns below.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow because I will have some more samples of cards made with more of the Spellbinders New Releases.

Spellbinders New Release - Gnome for Christmas

Please forgive the lateness of this post, but we had an awesome thunderstorm this morning which actually blew out my modem/gateway and I had no internet.  After much research and contacting my service provider, I ran to the store before they closed and switched my old modem/gateway for a brand new one and now I am up  and running!

Today I am showing off two fun cards I created using the new Spellbinders Gnome for Christmas Collection.  If you love gnomes, this is the collection for you!  I especially like the Holly Jolly ornament with the gnome sitting on top as the ornament swings back and forth on the front of the card.  I really love interactive cards, as I think they are such a nice surprise for the recipient!  Don't forget to check back tomorrow as I show you two more cards from this collection.  As always all the products used are listed below.

This first card, as I said is probably my favorite.  I started with an A2 card base and added a mat of green glitter paper then a beautiful brushed gold with mirror gold "Merry Christmas" All over it for the background paper.  I cut the ornament part of the bow and the red on the gnome all with glitter paper.  I attached the ornament with a small foam square and then popped up the bow so that the ornament swings free.  Makes for a super cute card.  Here are some photos.

The second card is a tree of gnomes which I also did in all glitter paper.  Again I started with an A2 base card to which I added a mat of turquoise glitter paper and then a background of white on white snowflake paper.  It is hard to see in the photo.  I tried to use all the colors of glitter paper I had in my stash.  Then I created the lights/ornament string with regular cardstock and then added glossy accents to make them shiny.  For a sentiment I hot foiled it from the Glitter Wishes glimmer plates and gold foil.  It was then cut out and popped up onto the gnomes.  I think it turned out so cute!   Here is a photo.

It really makes for a cute, fun, glittery Christmas card.
