The above card started with an A2 card base to which I added some Salty Ocean Distress Ink using a foam ink dauber to get that cloudy sky look. I then took some sparkle silk and splattered it over the sky are to make it look like snow. I then added a strip of white glitter paper across the bottom of the page to resemble a snowy ground cover. The train was then die cut and assembled using red, green, white, tan, and black cardstock from my stash. The engine was glued to the front of the card and the card was attached using foam squares. I used several of my other die sets to fill my cart such as the Charming Cottage Box dies that I used for the tree and ginger bread. The tree edges were inked with Mowed Lawn distress ink and the gingerbread was inked with Vintage Photo distress Ink. His eyes and icing were added with a black and a white gel pen. The package was created using a cut square of red paper to which I added a mirrored gold bow and ribbon from the Holiday Express Die Set. The bow was cut from red Glitter paper ad attached to the card using a foam square. The sentiment was glimmered using the Holiday Sentiments 2 along with some Silver Foil. It was then cut out and popped up across the front of the card using foam squares. |
For this second card, which was also started with an A2 base card, I chose some very pretty tree lined paper for the background. It featured snow covered trees with small silver accents and a cloudy grey sky. I matted this decorative paper with some solid gray cardstock from my stash. I created the train and cart using the Holiday Express Die set. The train and cart were made from tan, grey, green, red, and black cardstock. The engine window was cut from clear acetate and attached to the backside of the train. It was attached to the front of the card. The card was filled with three ornaments also from this set. I then added a gold bow to the card using Mirrored Gold cardstock.
I had placed some white cardstock underneath the train to appear as ground cover which made the perfect place to put a sentiment. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the sentiment from the Dancing Holidays Sentiments Set.
