Tinsel Time Collection - Day 2 of 4 - Dancing St. Nick Die Set

This is day two of releases for Spellbinders.  This is just one of the collections, I will be featuring in the days to come, so be sure to stop by this blog and check out everything new Spellbinders has to offer.  These products are so cute that I am sure you will have trouble deciding which ones to get!

This new Dancing St. Nick die set is so incredibly cute!  It is named that because his legs swing back and forth if you place a small foam square in the whole in his legs. Then just simply pop up the rest of his body, and his legs will swing freely.    If you prefer for him to not dance, you can simply glue the body over the legs and they will be stationary.  I will have a list of all the products used below at the end of this post.

For this first card, I started with an A2 card base and added a mat of dark green cardstock.  I then placed a strip of tree patterned green paper matted with black onto the green mat.  I also added the Christmas tree on the left of the card using a different patterned paper and yellow star both cut from the Charming Cottage Box Die set.  I then cut and assembled the Santa.  I added a small present and a scroll which I inked using Vintage photo distress ink and an ink dauber to give it an aged look.   I also added some faux writing to the scroll using a fine tip black marker.

The sentiment was hot foiled using the Glitter Wishes Glimmer Plate and Veridian Green Foil.  It was then cut out and popped up using foam squares.  For an added touch, I placed a fashion gold embellishment in the center of the star on the top of the tree.  I added a highlight to his eyes and nose using a white gel pen.

For this second example. I also used an A2 card base.  To it I added a mat of red cardstock and placed some printed paper atop that leaving a border of red around the outside.  The paper read Ho Ho Ho, which I thought was very appropriate for a Santa!.  To this I added a tag from green printed paper using the Create A Decorative Tag die.  I then cut out and assembled my Santa the same as I did above, but decided to have him waving instead of holding items.  His legs still swing free making him an adorable piece on this card!  For the sentiment I hot foiled it using Gold foil and the Holiday Sentiments 2 glimmer plates.  I then used the included die from that set and cut it out and popped it up across the bottom of the tag using foam squares.

The tag was finished by added a short piece of thin red ribbon for the hanger.

I hope you liked these examples!  I can't say enough how cute this Santa is.  Please check out him and the other "dancing" dies from this collection.  I am sure you will find too many to choose from.  Be sure to stay tuned tomorrow when I will feature another beautiful card from this collection.
