I have created two new birthday cards while playing around with different products Glimmer Hot foil and Fall Harvest washi tape.
I was gifted the washi tape by a dear friend and wanted to give it a try right away. I loved the colors included and decided to create a sort of criss cross patter on a piece of white cardstock cut to 5 X 3.75 inches with the tape. I then backed this piece using a piece of tan cardstock from my stash. and adhered both to a A2 sized white card base. I dug out an old Spellbinders Die, called Romantic Vines which is discontinued and cut out two of them from the same tan cardstock. The flowers were created from a light peach cardstock and cut out using the Cinch & Go Flowers III. I shaped the petals with a stylus and glued the three smaller layers together with liquid glue. I added stamens to the center of each flower. They were then adhered to the intersection of the washi tapes.
Using my Hot Foil Glimmer machine and gold foil, I used the Elegant Occasions Sentiments, and after it was foiled, I cut it out with the coordinating die and popped up using foam squares.
Here is the finished card. It is an unusual color combination for me, but I love how it turned out! It would make a great fall birthday card.
Next up, I decided to try something a little different. I wanted to try foiling with different colors of foil.
First I foiled the geometric shape in gold using the Geometric Floral plate from Spellbinders. Using the same set, I foiled the leaves on top of the geometric shape using Viridian Green foil. I then cut out the included flowers from dark and light pink cardstocks and the leaves from medium green cardstock. They were glued and arranged at the top of the shape and in between the greenery. I mounted this piece onto a piece of the dark pink cardstock and then these were both attached to an A2 white card base.
I decided to foil the greeting in bright pink foil to carry on my pink color scheme. I used the same sentiment as the first card and cut it out and popped it up in the center of the geometric shape. Gold pearls were then added to the center of each flower.
You know how I love pink sot this card is extra special to me. I hope you enjoyed both of these cards. I have been creating cards so fast that I am having to put two cards in each post LOL.
