Foiled and Floral Anniversary Card

I have again been playing with my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System.  Can I just say how much I love this machine!  It has taken my card making to the next level.  I can't get enough of it!  So this is the first one I recently created.

When I first got the inspiration for this card, I was experimenting with flower making foam and stamens. (These links are to the ones I purchased.  I tinted the flowers and leaves using ink and a blending brush.  The larger flowers were tinted with Concord & 9th Grapefruit Ink.  I used various shades of green for the leaves and Distress Ink Lemonade for the  small flowers.  I then matched the stamen colors to the flowers and hot glued them into place.  Disclaimer:  I had a difficult time with the floral foam.  It was hard to work with because it would only stick together and to the card with hot glue.  I watched several You Tube videos on flower making to learn how to create these.   I really love the soft look of these compared to paper flowers, but I am not sure I will use the foam again.  The flowers were cut with the Petite Floral Potpourri and the Cinch and Go Flowers III dies

I wanted to glam this card up a bit, so that is when I decided to use my glimmer plates.  I chose the one that came with the machine and added an Essential Glimmer Ovals plate to the inside of the first plate and foiled both using Gold Foil.  This made a beautiful oval design.  I decided to cluster the flowers and leaves in the upper left corner of the card.

I then foiled the "Happy Anniversary" using the Elegant Occasions Sentiments  and cut it out using the included die.  It  was them popped up within the oval area using foam squares.     I mounted the finished piece to some peach colored card stock and then applied that to  a white card base.  Here is a photo of the finished card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will give some of these ideas a try.  I am sure you will love using the glimmer machine as much as I do.  I feel it has taken my cardmaking to a new level!
