I received some new glimmer hot foil plates from Spellbinders and decided to give them a try. As I was playing around, this card idea came to mind. It is all glimmered and done in purples.
I started out with a piece of white cardstock measuring, 5.5 x 4.25 inches using my paper trimmer. (which as of this writing, is on sale). Then I foiled the two largest dies from the Spellbinders Essential Duo Liner Glimmer Rectangles Plates with gold foil using my Glimmer Hot foil machine.
On a piece of X-press it Blending Cardstock, I glimmered two of the Glimmering Peony plate with gold foil, same as I did above. I then colored them using Copic Markers. I used V12, V15, V17 for the flowers and YG67, YG63, and YG03 for the leaves. They were then fussy cut using my detail shears and arranged onto the bordered cardstock piece and glued in place using Bearly Art liquid glue.
I then chose two colors of purple cardstock, a light and a dark, to create the diamond. I started by foiling the dark piece of purple with gold foil using the Diamond Floral Frame Glimmer Plate. I then cut it out using the matching die included in the set using my Platinum 6 die cutting machine. The lighter purple cardstock was also cut into a diamond using the smaller die also included in the set. I then glimmered the Happy Birthday onto the smaller diamond using the Celebrate Life GOM-APR20 foil plate and gold foil. They were then glued together using the liquid glue allowing the thin foiled line on the darker purple cardstock to show. This was then adhered over the peonies and centered between the borders using the liquid glue.
Using more white cardstock, I glimmered the foliage included in the Diamond Floral Frame Glimmer Plate also using the gold foil. These were then cut with the dies included in the set and arranged onto the diamond pieces. The center flower was popped up using foam squares. Here is a photo trying to show all the shiny, foiled areas.
Once everything was arranged on the framed piece of cardstock, it was then adhered to a white base card using easy glide tape runner.
