Spellbinders New Love You More Collection

Today I am featuring two projects created with the one of the new dies from the  Spellbinders Love You More Collection.  The particular die set I am using is called the Open House Valentines.  It coordinates with the Spellbinders Open House Door Base and the Always Welcome Die of the Month from Oct 20.  These are the perfect projects to make for your favorite valentines.

The first project was this fun Valentine's Day Card:

To create this card I started with a white A2 sized base card. I then found some pretty pink, gold, and white polka dot paper from my stash which was cut using my paper trimmer  to 4 x 51/4 inches and adhered to the  front of the card using Easy Glide Tape runner permanent adhesive.  The door was then cut from the Open House Door Base Die set using my platinum 6 die cutting machine and also using some paper from my stash.  It was assembled and attached to the card base using Bearly Art liquid glue.  The panels at the bottom of the door were raised up using Foam Squares.

The front stoop was die cut in grey using the Open House Valentines die set and I placed some red paper underneath the stoop to make it look like red lettering.  It was adhered in place on the card under the door using the liquid glue.  The mail slot and door knob where both cut from Brushed Gold cardstock using the Open House Door Base Die set and adhered in place using the liquid glue.

The topiaries were die cut from the Open House Topiary die set and assembled and placed on either side of the door using the liquid glue. (see the photo)  The pots are red, the bow and hearts are dark and light pink, and the greens were light and dark green cardstock.  These were also adhered to the card using liquid glue.  I used the hearts from the  Open House Valentines. die set instead of the flowers to make it more valentine like.

The banner was cut using red glitter cardstock and the  Open House Valentines die set.  I  cut two and strung them above the door and attached with liquid glue.  Finally the heart on the door was cut from both red and brushed gold cardstock using the  Open House Valentines die set.  Both sections were assembled and glued to the front of the door using liquid glue.  I placed a black arrow on either side of the heart which was attached using liquid glue.  Finally, I placed a small valentine envelope at the bottom right side of the door.  This was also cut using the  Open House Valentines. Die Set.

For my next project, I created this adorable treat box.:

I started by cutting out and assembling the Spellbinders Charming Cottage Box from white cardstock using the Platinum 6 Die cutting machine.  I then cut pieces of light pink cardstock into 2 1/4" squares Using my paper trimmer and  were attached to each side of the box.  Then I cut dark pink cardstock into   1 3/4  squares and centered and attached them  on top of the light pink squares on each side of the box.

Next, using the Spellbinders Open House Valentine's die set, I cut out the heart the same as I did for the door card, however I used the matching dark and light pink cardstocks.  Four were cut and assembled, then adhered to the center of each square using liquid glue.

The heart banner was cut using the same die set only using red cardstock.  It was attached to look as though  it was wrapped around the top of the box.  Several light and dark pink flowers were cut Using the Spellbinders Petite Floral  Potpourri die set and assembled to place on each side of the box as shown and across the handle.  I also cut some greenery from green cardstock.  The center of the flowers were filled with white pearls from my stash.

I then tied a pink bow and placed it on the lid of the box using ribbon from my stash, and attached it  just below the handle using a glue dot.  As the final touch, I added the small tag  made of the dark and light cardstock and cut from the Spellbinders Charming Cottage Box die sett.  and added another small dark pink flower onto the tag.

I really love how these turned out.  I also love how you can use the old and new items together to create fun different projects.  You could add some Valentine's candy to the box and it would make a cute gift for anyone on Valentines Day.
