Today I am featuring a card I created using the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for December of 2021. This is a beautiful die set, so I thought I would give you some inspiration by sharing my card with you.
I started this card by die cutting the center section onto black cardstock using my Spellbinders, Platinum 6 machine. Once cut, I embroidered the dotted sections using DMC gold metallic thread and a tapestry needle. I took the embroidery thread and divided into two sections of three strands each. As I was embroidering this piece, I decided to add a gold bead from my stash to the center of each design.
I then die cut the thicker background die with white cardstock and glued it over the black piece using Bearly Art liquid glue.
For the background, I die cut the thinner of the two background dies using brushed gold cardstock. I then glued them to the white cardbase using the same liquid glue. The black embroidered piece was then glued across the center of the card. This covered where the two gold panels met. For the sentiment, I used my Glimmer Hot foil system to foil the sentiment onto white cardstock using the Spellbinders Everyday Sentiment II glimmer plate and black foil. This was then die cut using the included die and adhered to the front of the card using foam squares. The final touch was to add a gold ribbon to the top of the centerpiece using glue dots. Here again is the finished card:
I hope this inspires you to give this design a try. You can change the colors and sentiments to whatever you like. I wanted to make something striking and glittery. I think I achieved that goal. What do you think?
