I started by stamping the image onto whip cream cardstock using black licorice ink. I then masked off all of the stamp except the cake and stamped just the cake onto another piece of whip cream cardstock also using black licorice ink. I then had the fun of coloring in the lettering and both cake images using my copic markers.
I die cut out the single cake and then popped it up on top of the original cake on the full image. This panel was then glued to a piece of printed cardstock from the FSJ Celebrate You Prints which is retired, but you could substitute any cardstock you like. I then chose Pool Play cardstock for the base card.
I love the bright, bold colors of this card. Coloring it is also so much fun. If you are not a colorer, this set comes with dies for the plate, cake, icing, and candle so that you can create your cake from colored cardstock instead. The lettering is just colored with single colors, no shading or highlighting, but they still look great!
