There's Snow-Body I'd Rather Spend Time With

As soon as I saw this cute die from Spellbinders/FSJ, I knew I just had to have it!   He is just the cutest and can be used for many different projects!

The card was created using Spellbinder/FSJ products which are listed and linked below.  I started off with a Candy Apple card base and added a mat of  this colorful snowflake patterned paper from the Cozy Prints paper pack.  The snowman was cut out and pieced together with scraps of Whip Cream, Black Licorice, Limeade Splash, Tangerine Fusion, and Candy Apply Cardstocks using the Snowman Die from Spellbinders.  I glued the snowman together and mounted him onto a piece of Pool Play card stock which was die cut using one of the Fancy Edged Rectangle dies using foam squares to add dimension..  His hat band was colored with a white colored pencil.
The sentiment and small snowflakes were from the Snowman Days stamp Set and embossed using Clear Pigment Ink and White Embossing Powder.  I used Lemon Grass cardstock for the sentiment and popped it up onto a slightly larger piece os Candy Apply with foam Squares.  Lastly I used a piece of glittered red ribbon that I had in my stash to add a ribbon and bow to the bottom portion of the card.

Here is a closeup:

I liked the card so much I also created a fun ornament too.  I used the same snowflake paper from the cozy prints paper pack and created the snowman the same way only this time I mounted him onto a scalloped circle of  pool play card stock using the Journey Scallops die set.

To create the rosette, I cut one 12 x 12 sheet of the snowflake paper into four 2  1/4" strips.  Using the photo below as a guide, I knew I wanted my rosette to be 4" across.  So that meant that my finished strips needed to be 2 inches wide.  Since the die creates much larger rosettes, I placed a piece of washi tape 2" in from the scalloped edge.  I then lined up my paper edge along the tape and ran it thru my die cut machine.  I repeated the cuts on all 4 strips.  They were then glued together and made into the rosette.

Once the rosette was complete, I attached the scalloped circle and  the snowman, centered onto the circle.  I happen to have  a very small snowflake die which I cut from whip cream card stock and attached to the front.  (You can always emboss snowflakes like we did for the card.)

Using a hole punch, I created a hole to insert ribbon for hanging and then added a bow to the front.  I think it turned out adorable and would make a great tree ornament, gift tag, or use it to decorate a gift wrapped package or bag.
