This one is for Mom!

With May starting tomorrow, now is a good time to start thinking about those Mother's Day cards.  Today I am doing just that.  I decided to feature Fun Stampers Journey Spiral Lines Die using it to create the pretty flowers on this card.

They are so fun and easy to make.  I made these by die cutting three different shades of pink, Sweet Berry, Watermelon Fusion, and Bubble Gum.  All you have to do is starting from the end of the die cut piece, simply roll it up to form the flowers.  Then glue to the beginning of the die cut to hold the coils in place.  With Limeade Splash and Kiwi Slice card stock, I die cut the leaves using the Blooming Details die set.  Once I had all this done, I found this beautiful paper in the Through The Year Prints and knew it would be perfect.   The flowers and leaves were arranged atop Whip Cream card stock which was cut using the Doily Die and all was glued onto the printed paper and then matted onto a Whip Cream card base.  The sentiment is from the Your Day stamp set and was embossed with Whip Cream embossing powder onto a piece of Watermelon Fusion card stock popped up with foam squares.  The final touch was a white organza bow which was nestled in with the flowers.

I love how pretty and feminine this card is.  It is perfect for any mom.  I hope you agree and will give it a try.  Using the Spiral Lines die to create the flowers just shows another use for this particular die and makes it more versatile.

For the Best Dad Ever

Everyone thinks their dad is the best dad ever and with this card you can tell him just that!  I used some of Fun Stampers Journey soon to retire products along with some of our brand new products to create this fun Father's Day card.

Now I have to admit, I did a no no on this card.  I cut my stamp!  Eeeek!  It is true, but the mustache stamp in this set had a handle or stick down one side which I carefully cut off so that I could stamp just the mustache.  I stamped it randomly on Oatmeal Cookie card stock using Hazelnut Blend ink.  I then filled in some sections with the coffee bean stamp from Coffee Helps stamp set.  After stamping, I realized it was a little heavy, so I added a piece of vellum on top to tone it down a bit.  I REALLY love our corrugated card stock and try to use it as often as possible.  It adds some wonderful texture to the card.  I cut a band of it to go across the front of the card and added a Butter Cream mat.

Using the Coffee First Die set, I cut out a cup and lid from Oatmeal Cook and then the label from Butter Cream. I felt that the cup needed some shading and detail so I used the Color Burst colored pencils to do just that.  The label was then attached and I spelled out DAD using the new Sunshine Alphabet stickers.  They match perfectly with the Sweet Candy drops.  Natural twine was added for more texture and I stamped another mustache on Butter Cream and fussy cut to place under the sentiment.  I used the Best Dad Ever stamp from the Your Day stamp set. It was stamped on Butter Cream card stock and matted on Hazelnut Blend.  Both the coffee cup and the sentiment were popped up using foam squares.

If you dad is a coffee drinker, well this is a great card for him!  I hope you will give it a try.  It is quick and easy to do.  All the supplies used are  list below and can be printed out by clicking the small "supply list" below the items.

Father's Day Blues

I know it might be a little early to start thinking about Father's Day cards, but this cute stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey is retiring, so I wanted to let you know and show you how fun it is to use it to create this all in blue card.

I really love how this card turned out.  I never quite know when I start to create a card, what the end results will be.  A lot of the time it is completely different than what I had originally planned.  That is kind of the way this card was.  I knew I wanted to feature the Dad Code Bundle, which is on the retiring list.  That means that you can order it now and hopefully get it, or you can gamble and wait until May 1st, when all retired items will be marked down.  But either way, it is while supplies last.  So once the are gone, they are gone for good!.

I started this card by using a Whip Cream card base.  I then took a piece of Pool Play card stock and created a mat.  Using Black Licorice, Beach  Ball, and Whip Cream silks, I splattered the entire piece of Pool Play only creating a splattered background.  With Huckleberry Fusion card stock I cut an oval using the coordinating piercing die and cut a strip to go down the left side of the card.  The Through The Year prints have the adorable bow tie printed paper which went perfectly with the theme of this card so, I cut a strip of it and matted it on the huckleberry fusion.

Using the Dad Code stamp set, I stamped the glasses on Whip Cream card stock and the bow tie on Pool Play card stock, both using Huckleberry Fusion ink.  They were die cut using the coordinating dies and were attached to the oval.  The glasses were popped up using foam squares.

The sentiment was chosen from the Your Day bundle (not retiring) and was stamped on both Whip Cream and Pool Play card stock using Huckleberry Fusion ink.  After die cutting the sentiment with the coordinating die, I fussy cut the banner from the Pool Play piece and glued it onto the sentiment which was then popped up using foam squares.  Journey Silver dots were then added as an embellishment and Journey Glaze was added to the lenses of the glasses.

I think this makes a perfect Father's Day card.  What do you think?  Please let me know in the comments below.

Let's Ride off into the Sunset

That is what I think of when I look at this card.  I created the colorful background using the Fun Stampers Journey Gel Press and Acrylic Paints which gives this gorgeous sunset look.

If you have never tried the Fun Stampers Journey gel press, well you don't know what you are missing!  I first applied small amounts of both colors of acrylic paint directly to the gel press.  Then, using the brayer, I spread and mixed the paint across the surface.  I took a full sheet of whip cream card stock and laid it down onto the surface of the gel press and smoothed it across the surface.  When the paper was lifted, you had a unique and beautiful background.  Any remaining paint on the press can then be redistributed and used again on another piece of card stock.  The background I used today was from the second printing.  FSJ's Gel press is 8.5 x 11 inches which is just the right size.  You can get four backgrounds from one printing by using a full sheet of card stock.  No waste.

While it was drying, I stamped two images of the truck from Fun Stampers Journey Happy Adventure stamp set.  One full image was colored and just the back of the truck bed was colored on the second using Fun Stampers Journey Color Burst pencils .  The gel press piece was cut to size and glued to the front of a limeade splash card base.  I chose a strip of the heart map printed paper from the Sunday Adventure Prints and added it down the left side of the card front.  The whole truck image was glued to the bottom half of the card.  The back end of the truck was fussy cut and raised up on the first image using foam squares.

Doing this give the truck some real dimension.  I love the arrow stamp from this set and thought that it was just the added touch to place underneath the sentiment.

And there they go, riding off into the sunset.

Using the gel press can be so fun.  You can create so many different unique backgrounds, by using liquid colors, splashes, paints, stencils, etc.  I hope you will give it a try.  Warning:  It can become quite addictive LOL!

I hope you like this card and will give it a try for yourself!  Let me know what you think in the comments below.  I love hearing from you!

Something a little different using FSJ Host Exclusives

Today's card is something a little different for me.  I usually love to color, but on this particular card I opted for leaving the flowers black and white as that was the theme I was going for.  This particular card was created using Fun Stampers Journey  Host Exclusive Stamp  and die set.

Bloom Benefits and Host exclusives cannot be purchased,  they are earned, therefore I cannot list them in the supply list below.  The floral stamps are part of the A Better Place Stamp Set  and the Charming Thank You die  featured on pages 6 and 7 of the Spring into Summer mini catalog.  You can view the catalog here.  If you would like more information on how these host exclusives work (you don't need to host a party to receive these rewards!!!!)  Just ask in the comment section below and I will get back to you asap.

Now about the card, I started with a whip cream card base.  Then cut a mat of black licorice card stock.  I also die cut a piece of whip cream card stock using the new Lots of Dots die.  The flowers were stamped and fussy cut and arranged across the top 1/2 of the card.

The Lots of Dots die cut was also cut in half.  I placed some of the black gingham ribbon across the top of the die cut to hide the  edge.  Then I created a lovely triple bow of the same ribbon and attached it with glue dots.

The thank you was die cut from candy apple card stock and glued over the dotted area of the card.  I did it in the red so that it would really pop!  Finally, I added some of the Party Burst dots and Sparkle silk to finish off the card.

I am pretty pleased with the results and hope you will like it too!  Please let me know in the comments below.

It's not easy being green, or is it?

If you are this card, it is really easy!  I got my inspiration from a similar card on Pinterest and decided to give it a Fun Stampers Journey spin using another great stamp that is retiring June 30.

I decided to start with Fun Stampers Journey Branch stamp as my basis for this card.  Because I wanted it to be green, that became the color scheme for the card.  I started by cutting two pieces of Butter Cream card stock 4 x 5.25 inches.  On one piece I die cut a circle using the Journey Circles die set.  I chose a circle large enough to allow the branch to show thru.  Once cut out, I lightly traced the circle onto the second piece of card stock and stamped the branch in Limeade Splash.  While that was drying, I added a piece of printed card stock  from the Through The Years paper pack.  This pretty green stripe worked perfectly. Next, I wrapped a strip of Limeade Splash ribbon around the front covering the seam between the two papers and then attached another strip of ribbon and tied a knot.  I choose my sentiment from the Bloom Burst stamp set and stamped it in Kiwi Slice, which was a slightly darker green, because I wanted it to show up against the striped background.

All that was left was to add foam squares to the back of this piece and carefully attach it to the piece with the branch stamped on it.  I then attached it to a Limeade Splash card base, added some Rainbow Drops and it was done.

An easy card to create that can really be used for any occasion.  Simply change the sentiment and you are good to go.  Make up a batch with several different sentiments in different color schemes to have on hand when needed.

Remember, if you like this stamp, it is only available while supplies last!!!!  So you can order now, or take a chance and wait until May 1 when all retiring items go on sale.  But either way, once it is gone it is gone!

I would love to know your thoughts on this card. Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

I'll Take a Donut and Coffee (or Tea) Please

Fun Stampers Journey has some of the best stamps sets to mix and match!  A perfect example is the Donut Worry stamp set and the Coffee Helps set.  Here is a perfect example.  I actually created two projects with these sets. Who wouldn't like a gift card to their favorite coffee/tea shop or donut shop?

On the card, I started out with a Whip Cream base and added a mat of Bubble Gum card stock. With a piece of Oatmeal Cookie card stock, I stamped the three donut stamp using Hazelnut Blend ink to create a fun and funky background.  On top of that I placed a strip of Bubble Gum cardstock and wrapped Bubble Gum satin ribbon and Natural Twine around all the mats and attached to the base card.  I tied two small bows and added them with glue dots.  I then stamped the takeout cup and three donut stamp onto Whip Cream cardstock with Hazelnut Blend Ink.  They were colored using Color Burst colored pencils.  Jouney Glaze was added to the icing on the donuts and the heart on the take out cup.  The donuts were then covered with Sparkle Cuts to give the affect of sugar.  If you want to make your take out cup tea instead of coffee,  simply add the small die cut tea bag from the Coffee First die set and I added a small heart to the tag using the Heart Punch and Candy Apple cardstock.  The sentiment was  stamped on Whip Cream cardstock with Hazelnut Blend ink and added some Candy Minis in purple and pink and white dots from Party Burst Dots.

The gift card holder/tag was made in the same way.  I used the Scalloped Pocket die.  The white piece on the front was created by simply cutting just that section of the pocket die using whip cream.  The remainder was created the same as the card.

Now there is some sad news!  The Donut Worry stamp and die sets are retiring!!!!!  That is true.  They will no longer be available after June 30, or while supplies last.  So if you like this bundle, order now, or, you can gamble and wait until May 1 when it along with all the other retiring items will be on sale.  But, these are on a while supply lasts basis.  Once they are gone, they are gone for good.  I will be blogging the complete retirement list soon, so stay tuned!

I hope you liked these two projects and will give them a try yourself.  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Thinking of you in shades of brown

I love the warmth of the colors used on this particular card, they look so lovely together.  I knew I waned a floral theme, so chose the Peony Blooms stamp set for this particular card.

Starting with an oatmeal cookie base, I stamped one of the smaller floral stamps from the set all over the oatmeal cookie with hazelnut blend to create this pretty background design.  Using the fancy label die set, I cute a larger hazelnut blend piece and a smaller butter cream piece.  I then stamped the larges floral stamp onto the butter cream piece using hazelnut blend and the sentiment with the same ink on a scrap of buttercream.  For the embellishments I added oatmeal cookie ribbon and natural thread.  The floral piece was popped up using foam squares.

This card was so quick and easy to create and makes a beautiful presentation.  What do you think?  Can you imagine it done in different colors?  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Having Fun with Stay Sassy!

Fun Stampers Journey Stay Sassy stamp set is soon becoming one of my favorite new stamp sets from the Spring into Summer mini catalog.  The images are so fun to color and very versatile.  I had fun playing with pinks on today's sassy card.

I started with a whip cream card base and then added a mat of bubble gum pink.  (You know pink is my favorite color!)  I wanted a striped background, so I cut 1/4" strips of whip cream card stock and glued them onto the bubblegum card stock 1/2" apart.  I love the look!  I then used our square filmstrip die which I cut from black licorice card stock and used the square die which is included to cut a piece of whip cream for the center. I stamped on my image and colored it with my color burst colored pencils.  I think the black on the soft pink creates a very striking affect.  The final touch was the watermelon fusion and bubble gum  pink flower and leaves cut from kiwi slice card stock all using the blooming details die.  I then added a sparkle drop the the center of the flower and called it done!

Being a big fan of pink, this card really speaks to me!  I must say I love how it turned out.  If pink is not your color, well Fun Stampers Journey has lots of other colors to choose from!

Love to Travel? Well Pack your Bags Because Adventure Awaits

Fun Stampers Journey's new Spring into Summer Catalog has a complete section entitled Sweet Vagabond which is just loaded with stamps, dies, papers, and embellishments to create some of the most beautiful travel and adventure related paper crafts.  If you haven't seen these products, you just might want to check them out.  Today's card features  products from that section.

I started out with an oatmeal cookie base card and added a mat of heart shaped maps  from our Sunday Adventure Printed Paper.  I just loved the suitcase stamp from the Good Karma stamp set, so I stamped them on whip cream card stock, colored them with  color burst pencils,  They were then cut out using Journey circle dies.  I cut a larger circle with the matching piercing die out of pool play card stock.  Then using foam squares, I popped it up for some dimension.

The adorable wooden vagabond chips (plane and suitcase) were colored using color splash pencils and then tied to a twine bow.  The sentiment was then added and I considered it done.

I have included a couple extra photos so that you can see the details on this card.  I really love how the pool play and oatmeal cookie card stock coordinates with the printed paper.  I hope you like it too!

Mighty Handsome - That Dreaded Masculine Card

We all seem to struggle from time to time creating a masculine card.  Feminine cards are so easy, pretty papers, flowers, and done!  But masculine cards take a little more thinking...  So  today I thought I would pull out some of the stamps and dies from our big catalog (2017-2018 Inspiration Book and Catalog)  and come up with something with a more manly feel.

Our Jack Lumber stamp seemed the perfect choice.  I chose to stamp our flannel life background stamp on some candy apple red cardstock  to give that "flannel shirt" kind of theme.  The background on the oatmeal cookie cardstock was stamped using the Stay Wild stamp and then I filled in the "forest" with the Fresh Forest stamp set and cut out from the matching die.  I wanted it too look as though our lumber jack was chopping trees in the forest.  I think it worked nicely.

Of course, I then colored him in using our color burst colored pencils.  I made sure to make his shirt red to match.

Using the matching die, I cut him out and popped him up in front of all the trees.  I did add some black sparkle tape (I couldn't resist LOL!)

I think it turned out quite nice.  If this doesn't say manly, I don't know what does LOL!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Today's card features a really great stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey.  It is called Stay Sassy and I just LOVE it.  It is so much fun to create with.

I first started with this fun polka dot paper from our Sunday Adventure paper pack then chose this sassy gal from the three in the set.  I colored her using color burst pencils and then matted her on black licorice cardstock.  I added the sentiment, some sparkle tapes for fun and finally the journey thread.

Coloring these "sassy gals" is so much fun.  You can create so many different cards with this set.  I will be featuring more, I am sure in the future.  You can see this set along with all the other wonderful Fun Stampers Journey products on my website www.funstampersjourney.com/jeannebobish .  I have provided a list of products used below.

Let's Have a Tea Party!

I decided to mix it up today.  I love combining stamps and dies from different sets to create really fun and unique cards.  Well today is a great example of just that.

I know there are a lot of coffee drinkers out there, but today I wanted to honor all us tea drinkers.  I started by creating my own background paper using one of the small flower stamps from the Good Karma stamp set.  I stamped and die cut the images and sentiment from the Tea Time Bundle, and colored them with the color burst colored pencils.  I then added the adorable tea bag from the Coffee First Die set. With some added pearls and silver sparkle tape, I finished off this pretty pink card.   Here are some more close ups.

I embossed the center panel using Fun Stampers Journey Brocade Imprints Embossing Folder which is a 100 Bloom Benefit.  What does that mean?  Well if you purchase $100 or more, you can choose that embossing folder as a free gift.  The more you purchase, the more free items you can receive.
