Clean and Not so Simple Easter Card

Hello everyone and welcome back!  Today I am showing off a clean and not so simple (LOL) shaker Easter card using Kat Scrappiness Products.  When I first saw this Faberge Egg Die, I knew I had to make it a shaker card.  So today I did just that.

I started this card with a white A2 card base.  I then cut the Faberge Egg Die from a light purple cardstock.  I tried several different Easter papers for the background, but they just didn't work with the egg.  So I stuck to white.  This made the whole egg and flowers pop.

Then cam creating the shaker part.  The not so easy part (LOL).  I did not have am egg die that was the size I needed, so I ended up tracing the Faberge Egg (just the egg part) and drawing it onto a piece of white cardstock.  This would fit underneath the die cut.  I then cut out the egg using my Scan N Cut, but you could certainly use scissors, or an exacto knife and self-healing mat.  Once this was done, I placed a piece of acetate onto the back of the open egg cutout using double sided tape on the back of the white piece.  Then onn n  the front,   I  glued the Faberge Egg die cut so that the acetate showed thru.  Using very thin foam tape, I placed it around the back of the egg shape and the rest of the card front.  I fill ed the shaker with various Easter colored sequins and seed beads.  The card was then attached to the front of the card and will be popped up.  I then die cut the egg again in both a light and dark pink cardstock.  I used the negative pieces of the die cut to fill in the flower petals and centers.   The sentiment was stamped in black ink using the Hippity Hoppity Sentiments also from Kat Scrappiness.  It was stamped on to white paper with black ink and framed with the same color paper as the egg.

As a final touch, I added some purple enamel dots to finish off the card.  It is a little plainer than I usually make and as an afterthought, I could have embossed the background piece, but as they say hindsight is 20, 20.

Well I hope you like how this card turned out and will give making it a try.  It wasn't really as hard as I made out, really.  Just a little more time consuming, but it was worth it in the end. Check back often, as I will have many more new and exciting cards to show you!
