Blue Hydrangea 3-D card

Today I am sharing a beautiful hydrangea card.  This is one of my favorite flowers and when Honey Bee Stamps came out with their Honey Cuts Lovely Layers Hydrangea die set, I knew I had to have it.  I used that as my main inspiration for this card.

I had cut my layers from regular white cardstock which is not good for copic coloring, but since I already had them cut out I colored them up with the following colors of copic markers:  The hydrangea petals were done in B37, B34, B32, and B000.  To add a tint of pink, I applied some V00 lightly to  the edges of some of the petals. .  Now because the cardstock didn't blend well, they have a totally different look, almost like watercolor which I really like.  I colored each layer and then glued all the layers together using bearly art craft glue.  Three of the single flowers were cut and I popped up the petals only (I glued down the centers) using foam squares on two of the flowers and the third I removed a petal and placed it at the bottom next to the flower pot.  By popping up the petals only, it give the hydrangea a 3-d affect.

Using a domed foam dauber I inked the background on my card base where the blossom would sit using Tim Holt's Distress Ink Faded Jeans.  I didn't want the white of the base card to show thru the blossom.  I really like the effect I achieved.

Next, I stamped out the flower pot from the Sunny Studios Potted Rose stamp set using Honey Bee's No Line Coloring ink.  I love this ink, it makes no line coloring so simple.  I stamped it out on X-Press It cardstock which is what I use for all my copic coloring.  I did the flower pot using the following colors:  E99, YR27, E97, YR65.  It was then cut out using the matching Potted Rose Die set.

Once cut out, I placed it on the bottom portion of the card base just below the inked area.  I then glued the hydrangea blossom in place above the pot.  I used some light yellow paper from my stash to cut out the centers and glued them in place on blossoms.

I knew it needed something else, so I again stamped out three of the bees from Honey Bee Beecause stamp set onto X-press It card stock using the same no line coloring ink.  I colored the bees using 100, andY19 for the bodies and C3, C1, C0 for the wings.  They were cut out using the matching Beecause die set.  I randomly placed them on the card popped up with foam squares.  Here is a closeup of the coloring:

I wasn't sure whether to us a sentiment or not, but decided to use on from the Stamp Simply Typewritten Year Round Greetings.  Using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.  Stamp Simply also has the most fabulous Fish Tail Dies which I used the smallest one to cut out this sentiment.  I found this die set to be so useful!  It fits so many sentiments from so many different companies, I don't know how I survived with out it before now! LOL!

I popped the sentiment up across the pot and called it done!  I really love how it turned out and I know I will be using this die set a lot in the future.  I hope you like it too!  I tried to add links to the products used, other than the normal items we have in our stash to make it easier for you to find if you so desire.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Keep on Craftin'!
