Artistic Hello Card

  For the past few days I will be featuring cards that I made using the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month for August.  This is the fourth of seven cards I  created.  You can view the kit by clicking on this link  Card kit link .  I love Spellbinders kits of the month because they come so jam packed with goodies to create at least 10 cards!  But in actuality, you can create so much more.  They also come with add ons that can be purchased separately, (even by non-club members!), which can add to your card making even more.  They also have several other clubs you can choose from.  When you purchase more than one club, you will receive a discount,  You can view all the different value clubs by clicking this link Value Clubs.

This card is completely constructed using the materials from the card kit, except the two circles.  I started with a white card base and added a mat of mirrored gold.  Yes even that comes with the kit!  Then I chose this cute decorative paper with the scissors all over it for the background.  I then cut a white scalloped circle and a plain circle using more of the designer paper.  They were cut using spellbinders and FSJ dies I had in my stash.  I then glued them together and created the little collage in the center using die cuts from the kit.  

I  added a puffy heart sticker a flag and gold flower also from the kit.  Lastly I chose two of the chipboard letters top create the "Hi"  at the top.

A Work of Heart

Again, everything to make this card is included in the kit.  I used the paper from the paper pad for the background and the strip down the left side.  The flag, clip, and small paint tube were all from the die cuts. The foam hearts were from one of the sticker sheets. The paint tube and palette with brushes were done using the included die and finally the sentiment came from the stamps and I used black ink.

Lets Get Creative!

For today's card, I used the wonderful die set that is included in the kit.  I used the palette, brushes, paint tubes, and flowers all using the included dies.  All the solid card stock was also included.  The strip of printed paper was from the paper pad and the butterfly and the word create are from the die cuts that also came with the kit.  

I really like how this turned out.  Of course, all the pink just made it for me!  I hope you will consider this kit and make some wonderful creations of your own.

Art School Box Card

Now on to today's card.  I created this cute and colorful box card all from items found in the kit.  There are tons of die cut pieces which I used, along with paper from the paper pad which is also included. The instructions on how to create the basic box card for an A2 sized envelope are listed at the end of this post.

Box Card Instructions

To create an A2 card

Step One

Cut a piece of cardstock 5.5 x 9 inches and score at 2.75 (half way) down the length of the paper.

Step two.  

Turn paper and score every 2 1/8 inches across the length of the paper.  You will have a small (approx. 1/2 inch space at the end),

Step 3

Next cut on lines just scored ONLY to the middle score line that runs perpendicular  to the lines you are cutting.  Remove excess piece from the cut side of the score line.

Step Four.  

Fold along all score lines EXCEPT one of the flaps that you want to be the tall portion of your card.  

Step 5

Glue the flap that you created to the inside of the opposite end of the piece to create your box shape 

It should now look like this:

Step 6

Now you will cut the pieces for the inserts.  You can cut up to 3 or 4 inserts depending on how many items you are placing in the box.    They are cut to 3 1/8 x2.75 inches.  Score on each side at 1/2 inch as shown below.  Fold both score lines. 

 You will then add glue or tape to the 1/2" sections and glue to the inside of the box.   They should be evenly spaced inside the box.  

Next, all you have to do is decorate and give it to someone special!
