Day Two of the June Club Kit Releases - DOM-June 25

Today I am sharing a card in which I used the Spellbinders DOM for June 2024.  This card is so cute and easy to make.

I started with an A@ card base to which I added a dark blue mat.  I then added some printed blue paper that resembled water.  I wanted it to look as though the hippo was floating on the top of the water, so I left his feet off.  I cut out the rest of the hippo from grey paper and fit him inside the duck inner tube which was cut from yellow cardstock.  They were then glued to the front of the card. I added the work "chill" as my sentiment which also came with this kit.

Another quick and easy card that would be really easy to copy!  To check out all of this month's club kits, simply click here.  Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will have another card to show you using Spellbinders club kits.

June Club Kits are Here!

It is the first of June and that means that Spellbinders has released it's new clubs for June 2024.  In the next few days, I will be showing of some of the new releases so stay tuned!  To see all of this months clubs you can simply click here.  I am starting off with the Stitched Die of the Month, entitled Stitched Ice Cream.  It features a lovely stitched ice cream cone.  Here is my example:

Because I wanted a double scoop, I opted for a 5 x 7 card base to which I added some pretty printed paper.  I edge cut the right side of the paper using Spellbinders Romantic Slimline Borders.  I then placed some shear lavender ribbon beside the edge and a little bow using a glue dot.  I the cut and stitched the Ice cream using cardstock, thread, and needle from my stadh.  The sentiment was cut from the included sentiment and popped up in the middle of the card using foam squares.  It reads:  Have a Sweet Day.

If you don't have this particular edge die you can simply use any one that you have.  It is a very simple card to make and I hope you will give it a try!

Glimmer plate of the Month for May 24 Plus Bonus Stencil!

This month's glimmer plate came with a bonus stencil.  I made two cards to show off each.  The first one uses just the plate and the second one uses both the plate and stencil.  Spellbinder's has many club kits to choose from!  The sign up period is starting on May 6th.  Don't miss out!

To create the first card, I decided to make it a square one so I simply cut a piece of white cardstock 5.5 inches wide and folded it in half.  My card measures 5.5 x 5.5,  I then  hot foiled the glimmer plate using this months foil onto the white base card.  I had some pretty lavender colored paper sos I cut out the center using the postage edge circles.  I popped this up using foam squares and centered it over the glimmered image.  I then foiled one of the sentiments using the same color foil, cut it out with the matching die, and popped it up at the bottom of the card.  Finally, I had some lavender enamel gems which I added to the front of the card.

The second card was and A2 sized base card onto which I glued the same size piece of blue and lavender plaid paper from my stash.  The flower was glimmered onto white cardstock also using this months foil.  It was then ink blended with a blue and a lavender colored ink.  It was then fussy cut and glued to the front of the card.  The  sentiment was also foiled onto white paper, cut out and popped up unto the lower portion of the card font.

I hope you like these two examples and will give them a try for yourself.  To view all the monthly clubs Spellbinders has to offer, simply click here.  Which  one is your favorite?  I think I like the second one better.  I love the colors that the ink blending produced and I think I matches my cardstock perfectly.

Stitched Die of the Month for May 2024 Card

Well here it is the first of May already.  For those of you that don't know I am still sick with pneumonia and Vertigo!  As if one of them wasn't bad enough, I ended up getting both!  I have been suffering with both for over 8 weeks now, and am finally starting to feel better, but not normal.  Anyway, today I am featuring one of several new monthly clubs from Spellbinders.  This example is of the Stitched Die of the Month called stitched pineapple.  It makes this adorable pineapple design which would look awesome on a card.

To start this card, I began with an A2 card base to which I added a mat of dark brown paper and then a background of some printed paper with gold specks.  Then I cut out and embroidered the pineapple using both embroidery thread and needle from my stash.  I tried to make it as realistic as possible with the supplies I had on hand.  I then added the leaves in three different colors of green to show off the layers.  I found the sentiment in my stash which was stamped in black ink cut out, and popped up with foam squares.  As a final detail, I added some gold embellishments to the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will order and try out this amazing die set.  To view all the clubs Spellbinders offers, simply click here.
