While browsing thru facebook I came across a card that I really thought looked interesting. It was by Michelle Gibson on the Let's Make Cards Facebook Page. She has the instructions on how to make this fabulous card in the file section of that page. So, I printed out the directions and created this lovely card. (All the supplies are listed at the end of this post.)
I had this green polka dot paper (polka dots are gold metallic) in my stash and new it would make a fabulous card. So I started with an A2 card base and cut out the pieces according to Michelle's directions on her printout. I then had the fun of decorating the front of the card.
I started by creatng the gold hexagon using Mirrored Gold paper and the hexagon dies. I then had just received the Scrap Diva Rose Petal Flowers Die in the mail and decited to make some flowers with it in yellow. They were tinted with distress ink in spiced marmalade. I then cut some other flowers and greens using the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms die set. They were glued and arranged around the hexagon as shown above using hot glue and a glue gun.
For the sentiment I used Yana's Special Sentiment Glimmer Plates and glimmered the sentiment in Gold Foil. It was then cut using the matching die and attached to the front of the card using foam squares.
For the inside of the card, I decorated it with the green paper as instructed along with creating the mechanism which makes the doors open when the card is opened. I wanted the doors to open and reveal another sentiment along with your hand-written note, so I stamped one with Versa Fine Clair Nocturne ink using the Birthday Unboxing Sentimetns.
I really love how this card turned out and will certainly make more of these! Remember to get your directions under FILE on the Let's Make Cards Facebook Page!
