Seasons Greetings Christmas Card from Home for the Holidays Collection.

Here is today's card  in which I used The new St. Nick die from the Home for the Holidays Collection.  It made for a super Christmas card!  Santa is holding a Christmas tree and lantern against a snowy winter background.

This card is slightly larger than I normally make them.  I started with a 5 x 7 white card base.  I then cut a piece of dark blue using the Postage Edge Rectangles, and then it was embossed with the July-24 Embossing Folder - Hexi Snowflake.  I then cut two trees, and Santa and lantern along with several snowflakes from the St Nick die set from the Home for the Holidays Collection.   The snow on the ground was hand cut using white glitter paper.  I assembled the Santa, trees, and lantern and attached them to the front of my card.  The snowflakes were added next to give it a snowy feeling.  Finally the sentiment was glimmered using the darkk gold foil from the Glimmer Metallic Foil Variety pack.

I relly like how this card turned out.  I hope you do to!  To see all the new releases from Spellbinders for this month, just click here

Making Spirits Bright with Emerald Cut Labels - Home for the Holidays Collection

Today I am showing off the second of three cards I made using some of the items from the Home for the Holidays Collection from Spellbinders.  I really loved how easy and pretty this card turned out.  I hope you will stop back tomorrow when I will be showing yet another card from this collection.

I started out with an A2 white base card and used it horizontally.  I also used printed Christmas paper and brushed gold paper.  I alternated them as shown and used the Emerald Cut Labels and Tags from the Home for the Holidays collection to create the decorative background.  I alternated the printed paper and the gold cardstock.   I then glimmered the sentiment from the Elegant Holiday Sentiments and used the dark gold foil from the glimmer foil variety pack onto white paper and used one of the dies from the set.   If you want to add to your card, simply add some of the printed paper to the back of your envelope flap. I love doing that and it makes the envelope and card match which looks so professional.

I love this card and how it turned out.  It was a very simple, but pretty Christmas card. I hope you will give it a try!  To check out all the new releases from Spellbinders simply click here.

New Home for the Holidays collection!

Today is July 10th and Spellbinders is releasing it's new releases!  Today and the next couple days I will be featuring sets from the Home for the Holidays collection.  Be sure to stop back to see the other examples I have to show off. Today I will be featuring the Poinsettia Spray die set.  It is a beautiful Christmas set that can be used in so many ways.

To create this really pretty Christmas card, I started with a white A2 card base.  To this I added a piece of Christmas paper from my stash which I cut using the Fresh Picked Labels and tags.  I then cut a smaller piece of the white cardstock using the same die and placed it atop the printed paper.  They were then glued to the card base in the front center.  Next I cut out the flowers by using The Poinsettia Spray, which is part of the Home for the Holidays collection.  It was cut and assembled and glued to the white inner section.

Finally for the sentiment I hot foiled "Merry Christmas" from the Comfort & Joy Glimmer sentiments, die cut it and placed it popped up with foam squares along the bottom of the card.

I think this made a beautiful Christmas card!  I hope you like it and will give it a try for yourself. You can use the flowers and holly alone or create the spray as shown.  Let your imagination run free!  To see all the new releases at Spellbinders, simply click here.  There are three pages worth!

Second Birthday Card Using Old and New Products

Today I decided to make another birthday card.  I love making birthday cards, and that is what I get asked for the most.  This uses two of the new die sets and one older set.  It was really fun to make and I love how it turned out!

To create this card, I started with an A2 card base.  I then added a mat of soft seafoam green.  Then I gold foiled a piece of white paper using the Essential Duo Line Glimmer Ovals which is an older set using gold foil. (If you do not have this set, simply use whatever you have, or just omit the  oval all together.)  I cut it slightly larger that the oval and placed it on the card so that the top had a larger border.     Then I created my watering can by cutting some brushed silver because I wanted it to look like an old time watering can.  I assembled it and cut numerous flowers and greenery from several different colors of cardstock.  They were then arranged and glued into the watering can.  It was then glued to the front of the card.

For the sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday Wishes die set and cut the background of the words using mirror gold cardstock to match the glimmer oval.  Then I cut out the letters from white cardstock and arranged and glued them to the mirrored gold pieces.  They were then glued to the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card, and will try it for yourself!

Birthday Card using Several Old and New Products

I really liked how this card turned out, so I thought I would share it with you.  As soon as I saw the Love Note Bird Die by Spellbinders, I knew I had to pair it with the A Little Birdie Glimmer Plate which is a much older set.  All the products used (except the paper) came from Spellbinders!

I really like making birthday cards, so this was no exception.   I started with an A2 card base to which I added a piece of white cardstock that I had glimmered with Champagne Glimmer Foil and the Essential duo lines glimmer rectangles and the essential glimmer rectangles to form a glimmered frame around my image.  I then cut a piece of printed paper to fit  into the center of the dotted line.  To this I added the Love Note Bird die which had been cut out and assembled.

For the sentiment I went really old school and used an older glimmer set entitled a little birdie which I had in my stash, along with black foil.  The sentiment was attached to the top and bottom of the card.

I hope you like this card and will give it a try for yourself. If you don't have all the items I used, you can certainly substitute any items you may have.

Glimmer of the Month + Add on Stencil for July 24

Today I will share two cards featuring the glimmer of the month plus the add on stencil from Spellbinders.  The second card will feature a new technique that I discovered recently.  I hope you enjoy this post and the cards I created!

This first card used both the glimmer club and the added  stencil.  To create this card, I started with a mad  of red cardstock to which I added a background of printed paper (gold writing on green paper) Then I hot foiled the glimmer plate using aura color foil.  It was then stenciled using green and red inks using a blending brush.  It was then added to the front of the card.  The sentiment was also foiled using Aura foil and the glimmer of the month for July 24.  It was added to the bottom section of the card.  As a finishing touch, I added a red bow, some gold pears, and some sequined gold string as embellishments.

For this second card, I used the same piece of foil that I used for the first card, except I used the negative. I glued it to a piece of white cardstock with the essential arches die and attached it to a larger red and an even larger green arch.  They were then added to a mat of dark green and some green plaid paper from my stash for the background.  I used the sentiment from the Snow gardens Sentiment dies and popped it up using foam squares.  To add some more color and finish off the card I used red enamel drops for the berries on the holly sprig.

I hope you like both of these cards and will give the new technique a try!  I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.  To check our all the clubs Spellbinders offers, please click here.  To learn all the faqs and conditions, please click here.

"Present" Card July EOM-JUL24

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Today I am using two of the monthly clubs together on one card.  I am featuring the embossing folder of the month, but have also included the stitched die of the month to create a present looking card.

I created this card using all blue, but you can use anything you have. I started with an A2 white card base and added a mat of blue.  To this, I added  a lighter blue using the embossing folder of the month for July 24 entitled Hexi Snowflake.  This gives the appearance of wrapping paper.  To that I used the stitching die of the month for July 24 (which I have already featured) entitled Stitched All Wrapped Up.   I embroidered the bow and ribbon with a blue thread on white paper.  Bow and ribbon were stitched, assembled, and glued to the front of the card.  For the gift tag I used Tabs Set One cut out the circle (you could use any small tab die you have).  I then attached the circle to the bow using some of the same blue thread I used to embroider with.  I stamped the sentiment using the Dancing Holiday Sentiments using Distress Ink peacock feathers which went really well with the rest of the card.   To view all the club kits that are available this month, please click here.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will check out all the clubs Spellbinders has to offer.  I am sure you will find something you like!

July, Day 2 Stitched Die of the Month - Stitched All Wrapped Up

Today I am featuring the stitched die of the month called Stitched All Wrapped Up by spellbinders.  This die creates a beautiful stitched bow that will look great on all of your Christmas Cards.

For this card I chose a red, white and black theme.  I started with a mat of red cardstock which was applied to a white A2 card base.  I Then added a black and white printed paper for my background.  To this I cut out the bow from red cardstock.  It was then stitched with yellow/gold thread, assembled, and added to the front of my card.

I used this month's Glimmer of the Month Set, Joyful Holiday to glimmer the sentiment with red foil.  It was cut out using the included die and popped up onto the card using foam squares.

For a final finishing touch, I added some red enamel drops from my stash.

I hope you like this card and will give it a try for yourself.  Kits are sold starting on the 6th of the month, so these will not be available to purchase until July 6.

Skating Into the Holidays Die of the Month

It is

July 1 and that means that Spellbinders is releasing it's new kits of the month.  I will be showing some of them off in the next few days, so please check back to see what's new!  It is Christmas in July and today I will be featuring the Die of the Month entitled Skating Into The Holidays.

I started with a 5 x 7 white card base to which I added both a red mat.  To this I then added a red striped background piece.  Next I added a circle of Christmas paper which was cut using the postage edge oval die.  I then cut out and assembled two of the skates and hung them onto the circle.  I then arranged the floral dies below the skates at shown.  I added seed beads to the center of the poinsettias for added interest.

The sentiment was foiled using the glimmer hot foil system and GOM for April-2020 Celebrate the day.  If you do not have this particular set, you can use any sentiment you may have.  It was foiled using red foil and framed using the red cardstock.  I then popped it up at the top of the card.

I hope you enjoy this card and will consider purchasing this die set.  To see all the die sets available for purchase starting on July 6, please click here.  There are many to choose from all this month are awesome!
