Playing with some new dies!

Today I decided to play with some new dies and a sentiment set that was sent to me (everything is from Spellbinders).  I haven't had much time to just sit in my craft room and create lately, so I took advantage and made a card today.  Here is a photo of today's card:

To create this card, I started with a white A2 card base I then cut a slightly smaller piece of black cardstock to fit the front of the card.  In this piece of black, I die cut the circle using the stitched edge circle background die set.  I love this set and I am sure you will be seeing a lot more of it in the future.    Next I attached it to the front of the white card base.  I then cut two light and two darker pink flowers using the layered anemone die set and attached them around the outside of my circle.  The sentiment came from the Hello Smile Die Set and was cut from black and white cardstock and glued together then glued to the lower front of the card.  I added three white enamel gems from my stash.

I love how this card turned out.  I love the simple black and white along with the splash of pink color.  I hope you like it too and will want to give it a try!  You can see my supply list below, or get creative and use what you already have on hand.

Final Card for June 24 Club Kits

Today I am featuring a fun and easy card using both the embossing folder  of the month and the die of the month. I had some pretty printed paper in my stash so I decided to use it as a background on the card.

I started with  an A2 card base and added a mat of printed paper. Because the paper was two-toned, I decided to emboss just the blue portion to make it look more like water.  I placed the embossing folder half way down the page and ran it thru my die machine.  After that I created this cute hippo using  light grey paper and inkink it up with a little darker grey ink.  I then put him in the turtle floaty which is also part of this month's die of the month club.

Once assembled I placed him right on top of the water.  Since his legs swing back and forth he appears to be swimming and floating on top of the water.  I used the included sentiment which also came with the die of the month club and cut it from black cardstock.  It was then glued to the front of the card as shown.

There you  have it a simple, easy, and quick card to make.  I hope you will give it a try and check out all the clubs that Spellbinders has to offer each month by clicking here.  They will be available for sale on the 6th of each month!

Day Four June Club kits & New Technique!

Hello my crafty friends!  Today is day four of my cards for the new club kits from Spellbinders which are released this month.  Today I have another "Hello Friend" card, but I used a different technique  on this one.

I started out with an A2 base card to which I added a mat of Mirror Silver cardstock.  I then added some blue printed paper from my stash.   I then cut and assembled two ice cream cones from the DOM for June 24 which was called Summertime Wade pool.  I wanted one with strawberry and one with chocolate ice cream so I chose my cardstock accordingly.  I inked the edges of the ice cream and the cones to add some interest using ink from my stash.  I then added them to the card front as shown.  (Both the cones  on the figures swing back and forth for added interaction).

For the sentiment I used the negative foil piece from yesterday's card.  In other words, I foiled yesterday's card and saved the foil piece for today.  I placed the foil atop some white cardstock and die cut them both together because the foil was so thin.  I then glued the foil pieces to the white cardstock pieces and wha la!,  a new and  interesting affect using the glimmer machine and foil! The lettering will turn out to be any color of cardstock you use and the background will be the foil. I am definitely going to try this technique with other glimmer plates that I have.

I glued the sentiment between the figures and called it done.  I hope you like this card and that you will give it and the new technique a try!  I am sure you will love the look you get!  To see the information on all of Spellbinders monthly club kits, simply click here.

Day Three Monthly clubs Hello Friend!

Here is a card for day three.  It features the Die of the Month along with the added die set.  I also used the glimmer plate of the month too!  It features a cute watermelon and a strawberry ice cream cone.  Both items have swinging legs!  A really easy card that was fun to make!

To create this card, I started with a white A2 base card to which I added some blue cardstock to represent the sky.  I lightly stenciled some clouds in the background with a similar color ink.  Then I cut the hills and inked the edges with green ink..  The hills were created using a die from my stash, however you could simply cut something similar from green cardstock.

The two characters were cut out and the cone was inked with a darker ink.  I decided to make it a strawberry ice cream cone.  The watermelon piece was cut from the bonus die set.  Both of the legs swing side to side making this a fun interactive card.

The sentiment was created  using both the metallic pewter foil and the glimmer plate of the month.  I foiled the sentiment and then cut it out using the included die.  It was then glued to the sky area.

To create the swining legs, simple place a small foam square on your card where you want the legs to be.  The leg die has a large hole that will fit over the foam square.  The rest of the body is then popped up over the legs allowing them to move freely.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will give it a try for yourself!  To learn more about all of Spellbinder's club kits for this month, just click here.  Be sure to check back tomorrow as I will have another card and more products to share with you!

Day Two of the June Club Kit Releases - DOM-June 25

Today I am sharing a card in which I used the Spellbinders DOM for June 2024.  This card is so cute and easy to make.

I started with an A@ card base to which I added a dark blue mat.  I then added some printed blue paper that resembled water.  I wanted it to look as though the hippo was floating on the top of the water, so I left his feet off.  I cut out the rest of the hippo from grey paper and fit him inside the duck inner tube which was cut from yellow cardstock.  They were then glued to the front of the card. I added the work "chill" as my sentiment which also came with this kit.

Another quick and easy card that would be really easy to copy!  To check out all of this month's club kits, simply click here.  Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will have another card to show you using Spellbinders club kits.

June Club Kits are Here!

It is the first of June and that means that Spellbinders has released it's new clubs for June 2024.  In the next few days, I will be showing of some of the new releases so stay tuned!  To see all of this months clubs you can simply click here.  I am starting off with the Stitched Die of the Month, entitled Stitched Ice Cream.  It features a lovely stitched ice cream cone.  Here is my example:

Because I wanted a double scoop, I opted for a 5 x 7 card base to which I added some pretty printed paper.  I edge cut the right side of the paper using Spellbinders Romantic Slimline Borders.  I then placed some shear lavender ribbon beside the edge and a little bow using a glue dot.  I the cut and stitched the Ice cream using cardstock, thread, and needle from my stadh.  The sentiment was cut from the included sentiment and popped up in the middle of the card using foam squares.  It reads:  Have a Sweet Day.

If you don't have this particular edge die you can simply use any one that you have.  It is a very simple card to make and I hope you will give it a try!
