"Tis the Season Festive Wreath Cards

This card was again inspired by some designer paper I had in my stash.  It was covered in wreaths, so I thought what better for the focal point, than another wreath.

I really love this wreath stamp and die set from Avery Elle.  I will advise one thing tho, lay the die over the stamp to make sure it lines up before stamping.  Otherwise, it won't die cut correctly.

I started with a Candy Apple red base card to which I added a mat of this pretty wreath designer paper from my stash.  I wanted to separate the wreath from the background paper so I cut the largest of the Classic Scalloped Circles die set from Whip Cream cardstock and applied it to the front of the card.

I then stamped the wreath, bow, and candy canes using Black Licorice Ink onto Whip Cream cardstock and colored with copic markers.  I added highlights to the berries and candy canes using a white gelly roll pen.  The wreath and bow were popped up onto the scalloped circle using foam squares.  I glued the candy canes on the wreath and then added journey glaze to make them look shiny.

The sentiment fit perfectly in the center of the wreath.  I stamped it in Black Licorice ink.

I really love the simplicity of this card.  And of course I love stamps like this that are so fun to color.  I have listed all the products used below along with a link to the product page.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  I would love to hear any  comments you may have regarding this card or blog in general.  Please share with all your crafty friends.

Caroling Critters

You all know by now that I love to color!  Well this stamp set from Avery Elle gave me plenty of opportunity to do so.

I started off with a Candy Apple card stock base.  I then added a mat of Whip Cream cardstock on which I applied  Pool Play (phthalo blue tint) pan pastel to create the sky.  I then cut some Whip Cream cardstock using the Sunny Studios Woodland Borders die set to create the hillside.  Each element of the card was stamped onto Whip Cream cardstock using Black Licorice ink.  I then colored each piece with my Copic sketch markers and die cut them using the coordinating die set.

I popped up the bear and the bunny and owl to add some dimension.  The sentiment and musical notes were stamped with Clear Pigment Ink and then embossed using Black Embossing Powder.

This was a pretty quick and easy card to do.  The most time was in the coloring, but since I so enjoy coloring, it was a labor of love.  This set is absolutely adorable and has so many fun ways it can be used.

I have listed all the supplies below along with a link to their pages for purchasing if you so desire.  I would love to hear any comments or suggestions you may have regarding this blog.  Please be sure to subscribe and tell all your crafty friends too!
