White Poinsettia Christmas

Here is another pretty Christmas card using products from both Fun Stampers Journey and Spellbinders (complete list below).

I knew I wanted to use this pretty black and white plaid paper from the cozy prints pattern pack, so that was my starting point.  I decided to mat it onto a Candy Apply cardstock base card.  I love the look of red, black, and white together so tried to continue that theme, by adding another mat using the film frame die.  Then for pops of color, I used the Branch and Cone die set to create the fir branches in both Limeade Splash and Kiwi Slice.  The Bloom Cluster die gave the look of berries which I also cut from Candy Apple cardstock.  I created the poinsettias using the Cinch and Go poinsettia die from Spellbinders.  I added pearlized stamens to the center of the flowers and then embossed the sentiment from Snowmen Days stamp set in White and added some Sweet Candy drops in white as the final accent.

I hope you like this card.  I think it makes a very striking presentation with the black added.  You don't see that much in Christmas cards.

Santa of a Different Color

When I first found this background paper in my stash, I immediately imagined this card.

I am not sure what brand of paper the print is as I  have had it in my stash.  I was able to match the green in the paper to Fun Stampers Journey Lemongrass Cardstock.  So I started with a Whip Cream cardstock base and added a mat of the pretty printed paper.  (The dark areas in the photo are actually gold foil)

Spellbinders Santa die was perfect to use with this paper.  I cut the hat from Lemongrass instead of the tradition red and I think it looks so pretty with the paper.  I used a white gel pen to add his eyebrows and popped up his mustache for more detail.  Santa too is popped up and I trimmed his hat with Stickles diamond.

I added a band across the bottom portion of the card using Lemongrass cardstock with a strip of Fresh Limeade Sparkle tape.  The sentiment was embossed with gold embossing powder using the Holiday Script and matching die.  This too, was popped up using foam squares and attached on top of the paper and washi tape band.

I LOVE the non traditional color for santa's hat on this card and how awesome it looks with this printed paper.  I hope you like it too.  If you have a pretty paper, just match santa's hat color to one of the colors in the paper and you can re-create this cute card.

Teacup Poinsettia

Here is another great example of combining products from both Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey.  I really love how this card turned out.

I have all the products listed below for your convenience.

I started with a card base from Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then created a mat of Limeade Splash cardstock and embossed it with the FaLaLa Bold Embossing folder.  The hexagon Die set was used to create the background for the tea cup which was cut from Cranberry Bliss cardstock.

I die cut the teacup from Whip Cream cardstock using the Cuppa Love Die set.  Using my copic markers, I shaded the cup to make it look less flat.  I stamped the Christmas Sprig stamp onto Whip Cream cardstock and also colored it with the copic markers.  It was then fussy cut and glued to the top of the teacup.  I cut out some branches from the Branch and Cone die set using Limeade Splash and KIiei Slice.  They were glued to the back of the teacup to make it look a little fuller.  I then popped up the teacup and flower piece using foam squares.  As a final touch, I added a small So Plaid ribbon bow.

I thought that is was just right without a sentiment since the background was embossed with Falala.  But, you could add one if you like.
